La Locanda - San Luis Obispo

Vahan Markari Came up to SLO from San Diego for the long holiday weekend and even though the restaurant was packed(luckily we made a reservation the day before), we had excellent service and food! Our server Melissa had several recommendations for wine and food for our family of five. We had burrata, escargot, and the warm buttery involtini to start. We tried several pasta dishes and an osso bucco for the table to share. Everyone loved their food, we had to taste the tiramisu and gelato! Don’t skip this place! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area visiting in a few months!

Emberz - Mammoth Lakes

Rating: 5 /5
Cuauhtémoc Lopez A friend brought me to try out the brisket sandwiches, and I opted for some mac n cheese as a side. Wow, what a great last meal to bookend a Mammoth trip! The owner recommended we try out the cheddar-jalapeño elk sausage; I’m glad we took him up on it, because it was 10/10 delicious. Highly recommend stopping by and trying out the BBQ here — I know I am (again)!

Wagyu Factory Tustin | Limitless Shabu - Tustin

Rating: 4.9 /5
O T Pavi was an outstanding waiter during a busy night at Wagyu Factory. Her attentive service and warm demeanor made our dining experience truly enjoyable, echoing the positive sentiments in other reviews about the staff’s professionalism. The food quality was excellent, consistent with the high standards noted by others. Highly recommend — id come back when I’m in the area. Been to the other chubby group restaurants. This one feels more complete. A lot of food selections.

White Caps Bistro - Goleta

Rating: 4 /5
Don Lubach Fun fact. This interesting restaurant is in the same complex where Howard Hughes once had an office. It has been open to the public for breakfast and lunch for some years, but the White Caps folks have made it much more welcoming. Today, I had their Torta (on special with a drink) and loved every bite. They opened the side entrance and they have a lot of outside seating. Staff was very friendly. Parking looks easy for cars and it was just fine for my bicycle. If you want a VERY original place to go for breakfast or lunch, this is it.

Sergio’s Taqueria and Catering - Sonora

Rating: 4.9 /5
Adam Sandoval You can’t be blamed for not knowing this place serves great Mexican food as all the signage says “Sunshine Station” with the tagline “best darn dogs in the state”. Branding aside, you will find AMAZING taqueria food here. We ordered Al pastor, and chile verde burritos. The Al pastor was top tier, however, the chile verde was one of the best I have ever had. You could taste that the tomatillo sauce was cooked in house, not store bought and the pork was fresh. Salsa bar was fresh and stocked with all the staples. Pico de gallo was firm, and the sauces all had tremendous flavor and respectable heat. All of this and The price is right. Big draw back is that there are no tables, all bar style stools, so not ideal seating for a group. If they put some tables outside with umbrellas, I think that would put this place on top. There a few things that they could do to improve the experience but the food is already excellent. Service was great with the cashier even giving me some background on the recipe of the chile verde. Show Sergio’s some love and the food will love you back.
