The Shuckery - Petaluma
Anthony Michael We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at The Shuckery in Petaluma. From start to finish, the meal was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully executed.
We began with the Della Fattoria bread basket, which was pure heaven. Warm, crusty slices came with garlic olive oil and sun-dried tomatoes that soaked into the bread like a dream. Next came two baked oysters: the Rockefeller, rich and herbaceous, and the Miso, which added a unique umami twist. Both were excellent.
The Shuck Caesar was a standout. It was classic, crisp, and bold, with whole anchovies that made my salty heart sing. We followed that with two raw oysters from Pt. Reyes, fresh and briny, a perfect palate refresher before the main course.
The seared scallops were the highlight. They were perfectly caramelized on the outside and tender inside, served over a Parmesan like risotto with sesame seed pesto. The risotto could have used a touch more parmesan and seasoning, but the scallops more than made up for it.
Service was warm and attentive. The location inside the historic Hotel Petaluma adds a cozy and upscale charm. Whether you’re an oyster lover or just looking for a memorable seafood experience, The Shuckery delivers.
