Gumbas Italian Restaurant - Sunnyvale

Rating: 4 /5
Sneha Mirajkar It’s my birthday today and I didn’t want a very noisy celebration so we opted for classic Italian style food place and we went Gumba’s in Downtown Sunnyvale. The place is lovely the vibe is just right, we chose to sit outside for lunch and it was a pleasant afternoon. The service was quick, the staff was kind. The overall atmosphere was great Now coming to the food, being a vegetarian it’s a bit tricky to find places that caters the need and boy was i surprised?? On yeah totally. The menu had so many vegetarian options to begin with The pasta came with a side of soup or salad and garlic bread About the pasta, I haven’t tasted such delicious and delightful pasta in a while, the portions were generous enough and amazing. Absolutely worth it. I can’t believe I didn’t go here sooner. It’s definitely a repeat place.

Karina Great Armenian restaurant with some Russian and Uzbek specialties. Everything was really great. We had borsch, plov, lamb, beef koobideh, chicken filet, dolma, khachspuri. Everything was fantastic. I wish Borsch was warmer, but the taste was good as well as the spread and the brioche. There was my favorite Georgian lemonade Dyushes. Some of the food was left dye to large order and we took it away. Hopefully eggplant rolls will be added to the menu soon. The Georgian Kharcho soup would be amazing, too.

COYA Peruvian food - San Luis Obispo

Rick What can I say? One of the best restaurants Ive ever experienced. The ambiance was out of the world, it was full of detailed information about Peruvian culture, it had murals and a dance room. The waiter was polite and friendly and the owner was attentive and stopped by to make sure we were happy. I ordered Causa con Lomo, Ceviche, and surprisingly they got Carapulcra and for those who know what dish is this, I have to order it. Everything was delicious, the portions were good and fulfilling compared to other peruvian restaurants I tried in SLO. By the time I realized I didnt take pics at the beginning our dishes were empty and I couldnt take pictures. For dessert, I got ice cream of lucuma and it was a treat. I will definitely come back next time I visit SLO.

SP2 Communal Bar + Restaurant - San Jose

Rating: 4.1 /5
Carl Foisy Since the day this place opened. It has been a delight. Definitely on the list of some of the best happy hour in downtown San Jose. Consistency is king and with this spot consistency is on point. Everything from the sticky ribs to their warm burrata cheese, the food is great. I understand there. Chef is very talented and is indeed keeping the bar high. Happy hour drinks are a good deal, and if you get there early enough, you can find a seat at the bar or outside on the covered patio. I’m glad they’ve survived and are still doing great things.

Pho Hoang - Vallejo

Autumn Cao One of the most delicious chicken pho I’ve had in the Bay Area, and definitely the best in the North Bay. A humongous portion for only $13! Service was super fast and attentive. The staff are also very nice and treat you like family. The broth is a bit mild for my taste but nothing some extra garnishes/sauce cannot solve. Overall, a must try.
