Timmy Shigley Every small town should have a place like this, and most usually do.
The classic diner with no frills or gimmicks. Just good home style cooking with excellent service and prices.
We did a nice walk through some of the trails at nearby Paynes Creek State Park and worked up a nice hunger for lunch.
Old school diners always cry out for us as they bring back such great memories of years gone by.
We are so glad we made the choice to stop in. She had the fried chicken sandwich with onion rings. Them are some seriously good, thin style, hand battered onion rings. Light and crispy. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly too.
I opted for the Meatlovers Skillet (all your typical breakfast meats atop fried potatoes, covered with sausage gravy and melted cheese along with 2 eggs thunderhead.
Back in Ohio we would have put that over two biscuits and called it a "Barnyard Buster" from a well known establishment in Columbus.
That being said, this was perfection on a plate. Nice portion size, no skimping on the meats, and tasted excellent.
Service is excellent, and prices are very fair for the times.
We always chat up the service and found out that this location is owned by the same couple that own Wooden Spoon in Lakeland, which we just reviewed a couple months ago.
They also got a stellar review, which shows you that it is no fluke that this review is equally stellar.
Nice job and see you soon!
