Alexander Delacruz Tropico has been a cornerstone of my life for over 20 years, and it’s high time I shared just how much this place means to me. Since my teenage years, Tropico has been my go-to spot for the best Cuban breakfast in town—and it has never, ever let me down. First and foremost, the food is beyond exceptional. Whether you’re craving a perfectly pressed Cuban toast, rich café con leche, or a hearty plate of huevos with a side of crispy bacon, Tropico delivers every single time. The flavors are authentic, comforting, and prepared with the kind of love and attention that reminds you of home. Over the years, their consistency has been nothing short of remarkable—every dish tastes just as incredible as it did the first time I visited. The service? It’s like being welcomed by family. The staff is warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. They take the time to get to know their regulars, and after all these years, walking into Tropico feels like catching up with old friends. There’s a sense of community here that’s rare to find and impossible to replicate. The atmosphere is quintessentially Cuban, full of life and energy. For over two decades, Tropico has been my top choice for a delicious, authentic Cuban breakfast. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s a tradition, a touchstone, and a place that holds so many cherished memories. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Wayne VandenBerg I ordered the stuffed hash browns, I enjoyed it very much the bacon was crispy as well as the hash browns and biscuit and gravy. Tim prepared the bowl perfectly. Cassandra was present, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed being there. This will be our favorite place to dine when we are in Chiefland.

Lexi S Our server was “Jazzy Julia” and she was so sweet and great at her job. I got the Belgian waffle platter with bacon and eggs. It was very good. I also got an iced coffee with vanilla which was great as well. Nice atmosphere and very cute! Relatively cheap.

Jeanette Bennett We stopped by here on a whim for lunch after visiting the caverns. I wish I lived closer. I ordered steak street tacos with rice and beans. The food was delicious. The staff very kind and even making us all laugh. If Im ever in the area again it will be a definite stop

Tula Gunckel The food was delicious. I chose a taco salad with shredded chicken. I expected the chicken meat to be dry but it was warm and juicy the guac was fresh and tasted homemade with a few chunks in it. The iceberg was also shredded crispy cool and refreshing. I was so hungry I forgot to take the photo while it was still pretty. Believe when I say worth the short trip off the interstate to find this affordable hidden gem. The food is good!
