Rafael F For appetizers we ordered the alcapurria and rellenos de papa. Both items were tasty but the alcapurria was slightly cold in the center which downgraded my rating. There were a decent amount of items to choose from. The passion fruit drink was very good and sweet. Mofongo with skillet chicken was good but it appeared a bit reddish and not cooked to our liking. The mofongo, white rice and red beans were delicious. The bistec encebollado (steak and onions) was cooked well with lots of onions. It was served with white rice and red beans as well which was delicious. A side of platanos (unsweetened plantain) was cooked well and was delicious. The plantains were served with a garlic sauce and it was delicious. Overall Id definitely come back for another round of good Puerto Rican food

Stacie Cramer We drove from Gainesville to try this restaurant, and we are very happy we did. I had the 1/4 pound hot dog with fries and my husband had the Southern bean soup. I could barely finish half of the hot dog it was so big, and my husband couldnt eat his soup fast enough. We brought home their liver and onions with mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans for my dad. The portions for my dads meal was enough for two meals! We also brought home a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie and strawberry rhubarb pie. Everything was beyond delicious and we look forward to going back again and again. They give you huge portions for very reasonable prices. The service was top notch too. If youre ever in Dunellon you have to stop for a meal. Well worth it!

dietmar doehring Ive been eating at Sonnys since I can remember, but for some reason theyve all closed where I live so when I come through Florida, I always stop by this trip I did it again. We had the smoke wings for an appetizer, it took a long time, but well worth the wait. Nice crispy crunch on the skins. I swear Id come back here just for the wings. I think these are some of the best St. Louis style ribs that are out there and Ive eaten at every barbecue joint you can think of driving down the backroads in the South, I love a good rib, and for a chain these guys are spot on every time and I love their barbecue sauces. The smoked chicken is amazingly tender, juicy and flavorful as well. Their sides are as good as well. I always get the fried okra. The service is always with a smile. I love the new restaurant style. They have a full bar now.

Alma Ess Our party of three arrived expecting a long wait. We were seated within 10 minutes, which was quick for a Sunday afternoon. The ordered was the alligator and boudin balls. Some of the alligator bites were chewy, not surprising, but the seasoning was very flavorful so it was *almost* worth risking a sore jaw. You can never go wrong with the boudin balls. They were perfectly spiced and soft on the inside. Both items came out hot and fresh. We scarfed them down so fast that I forgot to take pics. The meals ordered were the seafood po-boy, the zydeco salad and the ahi tuna salad. I cannot speak much to how the tuna salad and po-boy tasted but I will tell you that both meals disappeared quickly. The only comment on the tuna salad was "very good" as the food was being devoured. Nothing was said about the PoBoy. The Zydeco salad was tasty but the dressing was very sweet to my tastebuds. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and seasoned well and the greens looked fresh. I would order again but ask for the dressing on the side.
