Pogos Kitchen - (Near Fernandina Beach, FL)

1 /5 Eloise Wilde: I don’t know how this place has a good rating, it was AWFUL. We came here under a reservation and it was not busy at all. The waitress was unhelpful and dismissive of us. The food took 2 hours to come out and we had no updates or anything, most restaurants would be very apologetic for this wait and make it up to us, and the food had the smallest portion ever for the price. We then asked for some ice cream for desert and they came back out with I kid you not a TABLESPOON of ice cream in a bowl for 3$. It was insane, I thought they were kidding, we then asked if this was the portion size and they said yes, then our waitress went to the host and started pointing and laughing at us and rolling their eyes. Awful service I will never go here again.

4 /5 Julian Alvarez: I live in the south side of Amelia Island and I love the fact that good restaurants like Pogo`s Kitchen are near my home. But I have a few things that could have been better. 1. The She Crab soup is one of the best I have ever had but it was a bit luke warm temperature wise. 2. The bolognese pasta was too al dente for my taste and the ragu did not seem to have much meat and tasted different but not in a good way. 3. Lastly the menu has many good items including chicken, risotto di mare, veal cutlets, scallops, sea bass even a gourmet burger. But unless I am mistaken, there is no steak on the menu. Sometimes I love a good filet mignon at a fine dining establishment like Pogos. I wish it would be added as a regular menu item. Anyway I love the atmosphere, the service and most of the menu items including the complimentary peanut hummus.

3 /5 Nate G: typically an older crowd here. instrumental muzak playing. excellent and diverse cocktail menu. the farro under my duck was soggy and bland but the scallops were a hit. service was a little slow.

5 /5 Bledsoe Laurel: My husband and I are from Sarasota and we know good food! We told our server Greg we were picky but polite and he said we were "creative" with our small tweaks to the bartender and chefs offering. From the custom twist to the signature Manhattan, the charred green beans as an appetizer and a shared perfect pear baby gem salad with a not too creamy bolognese our meal was one of the best weve had. Topped off our last request of adding the fig icre cream to the cobbler with the excellent Wilhammet valley pino to complete a simply perfect meal. 4 /5 William McDonald: We had brunch here the other day and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the space inviting. I would have given 5 stars for service, but it seems a little hurried and lax (server forgot our sides). The biscuits were champ, as well as the peanut hummus. Everyone enjoyed their meal, so what else could you ask for? Definitely worth going.
