Stéphanie C What a fantastic restaurant and amazing staff! I initially booked for a Friday night but, unfortunately, I was denied entry to my flight as I arrived after the cut-off time. I was kindly rebooked to a later flight, but that meant I would miss my reservation in Florida. Thankfully, the kind lady at Maass, Victoria, graciously moved my reservation to Monday night :thank you, Victoria!
When I arrived, I had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated. I would have appreciated a small acknowledgment or even an offer of a drink during the wait, but once we were seated, the rest of the evening was absolutely incredible.
Chef Ryan truly delivered! From the very first dish: oysters with a poached egg to the final dish, his personal favorite, a vanilla ice cream with hazelnuts, a lemon-flavored madeleine, and a delicious homemade jujube, it was an explosion of flavors in every bite. The 11-course meal was a journey, with each plate and drink pairing surpassing the last.
My personal favorite dish was the Japanese rice with maitake mushrooms and a white sauce, and my favorite drink was the second pairing: a delightful mix of pineapple, passion fruit, citrus, and a subtle bitter finish.
I also want to give a special shoutout to our server, whose name I didn’t catch, but I affectionately called him my “Colombian King.” He was proud of his heritage, full of energy, and incredibly sweet and attentive throughout the evening.
I will definitely be back with my future husband and family. Truly an unforgettable dining experience!
