4 /5 Jason Simon: I was in the area with my three kids and needed a place that could work around my daughter’s gluten and dairy restrictions. The Italian Joint came up in my Google search as having gluten-free and vegan options. I ended up ordering my daughter a gluten-free pizza with vegan cheese from their GF menu (not on the kids’ menu), so the price jumped even though it was still a small pizza. For myself, I had the four-cheese ravioli with sausage, and we shared garlic knots.
When I used Google Maps to find the location, The Italian Joint showed up clearly in downtown Kissimmee at 215 Broadway. I had to parallel park on the street right in front of the restaurant the street parking was available and accessible. I also spotted some free parking behind the restaurant and nearby street parking options mentioned in reviews.
Inside, the vibe is cozy, warm, and intimate you get the sense this is a family-owned spot that takes pride in scratch-made food. In fact, they emphasize that dishes are made from scratch, and for gluten/allergy orders they cook in a conventional (not wood-fired) oven to avoid cross-contamination, which can add extra prep time.
If you’re going with dietary restrictions, just be aware that “special” options (gluten-free, vegan) come with extra cost and extra wait. That said, The Italian Joint is a solid option when Google leads you there and you need real accommodation for food allergies.
