Waffle House - (Near Macclenny, FL)

5 /5 Patrick Coyle: It was my first time eating my at Waffle House. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is kind. The place is clean. I received my food quickly and can attest that this is good place to stop and eat during a road trip.

2 /5 James Humphrey: 9/26/25 8PM I have eaten at the Waffle House in Macclenny for years, service was getting progressively worse, help no showing up and prices going up. Earlier in the year they cut out 10% military discount and then eggs went up 50 cents and the prices starting to go up. Service started getting worse, cooks kept getting worse, looked like they were bringing in cooks from other areas, did not recognize anyone. Then, come in to eat and the grill would be "closed so they could cool off" ??? Wait period for food would go up to half an hour. Then it closed for a much needed remodeling. Finally, "OPEN", first few days, every thing looked nice and new and service was good. Last couple of times, getting back into the rut of new cooks. TONIGH, last straw, I am not going back and told them so! Two wait staff, they have been there for awhile but, two new cooks on the grill. We came in all tables were full, one left almost when we came in so we sat down, waited 10 min to get waited on. After a half hour they brought me my Eggs& cheese with raisen toast and a glass of milk, my wife had a waffle & coffee, grandson - waffle w/bacon and child milk. More than 10 minutes go by and they bring my grandson his bacon, another 10 minutes and my wife asked for a warmup and another glass of milk for grandson, I am ready to just get up and leave. Finally after another couple of minutes the two waffles came out. I pay: $27.75, talk about prices going up, this is unfreaking unreal. We spent an hour for two waffles, coffee, milk and bacon WITH TWO COOKS ON THE GRILL. As we left, I noticed someone had got up and left, plate untouched. The man and wife setting behind up, their food was brought out the same way, wife first, 5 min. later half of the mans order was brought out and after about another 5 minutes, the other half was brought. I was watching the man, looked like he felt the same way I did, ready to throw a plate at the cooks. I WILL N O T be going back. I would not shed a tear if they went out of business and the business is there if they can keep it! P.S. It was so cold inside you could hang meat. I had to get a jacket for my wife and a blanket for my 9 year old grandson, the windows were running with moisture. We were not the only ones, lady behind us went to her car and got a wrap. I complained some time ago about how cold it was, was informed that CORP would not let them adjust the temp, true or not - have no idea. It is always cold. Yes, this is Florida and it is hot outside most of the time but, no reason to freeze inside.

3 /5 Kierra Brown: The service was good but the food was a different matter. My grits were warm but the person eating with me her grits came out with steam on them. The waffle was a blueberry waffle all the blueberries where in the middle so it was a bit mushy in the middle part of the waffle. The cheese wasnt real cheese as it didnt melt in the grits i wasnt aware of that before i ordered it but i do know now. I didnt let them know because it was only 2 people working and it wasnt all that serious. It was okay not the best that ive had here. Plus there were 2 other people they were definitely catered to i say that because 1 guy the cook brought him his food personally and the other guy i think he may have been a regular his food was cook to order.. i thought all of the food was cook to order… i observe and listen to things closely.. maybe too much i did leave a tip even after i said i wasnt but.. you can treat your regulars good but also do the same for the reat of the customers if you want them to spend their coins there as well. Just a customer service tip..

2 /5 Kayla Albertson: The food was what we expected from a Waffle House. Definitely edible but not excellent. What I’m most concerned about is the price. It was only myself, my husband and our two toddlers. Our bill was 64 dollars. So 70 with a tip. We’ve spent less at nicer restaurants. I deeply regret going and feel like we wasted money. They added extra charges for literally everything we ordered and the waitress did not inform us there would be an upcharge. When I looked at the menu again after the fact it was in very small print at the bottom. I honestly just feel scammed by the company. The staff was kind but we will never ever go back to a Waffle House.
