Backstreet BBQ - (Near Hartwell, GA)

J C “Queen of Purple” Tried to call and place an order for 10min. Finally went to the location and was calling as I walked into the building and was hearing the phone ringing. I placed my order and asked the cashier why they were not answering the phones. She said they were not working. I explained that it was me calling it when I walked in. While I was waiting for my order I called their number again and they took it off the hook because it went straight to the voicemail message. I called it 3 times while I was waiting. Poor customer service. If you dont want to take phone orders then you should be in business. I know they dont care what is posted about them and the cashier showed that when I told her I was calling the phone when I walked in. Food is good as always but show a little care for your customers and answer the phones.

Kara Maya YUM! This place is awesome! My recommendation is the Cancun Shrimp or the Plato de Puerta Del Sol! Both are amazing! Also, dont skip on the dip! Their Queso with Chorizo is on point! One of our favorite local restaurants!

Andrew George This place is completely amazing!!! The spaghetti was the closest to homemade that I have ever had!!! The jalapeño cornbread was the best I have ever had! The yams and macaroni and cheese were really good!!! The desserts were above average for sure!!! Definitely would recommend coming here anytime that you are in the area!!! Mary Ann was extremely friendly and helpful!!! Thanks for the great meal!!!

Christy Jo Henson I used to swear I would not eat here bc of the name. Then one day, my bf insisted I try a bite of his cold whole catfish. I dont even like whole catfish all that much. That is, until that day! Man! I wanted more! It took me a minute to get over the name of the restaurant but when I did, I went and got some whole catfish (fresh and hot this time) for me and my Mama and we tore it up! Their chicken wings are the best ive ever eaten and the fried mushrooms are so so good. They just dont have any Ranch Dressing which is weird. Oh, the coleslaw is good but the portion size is a freakin joke! The cakes look delicious and they probably are when theyre first made. I think mine had sat there too long bc it was dry but ill try it again. The restaurant in general though, best fried food around! They just need to sell some collard greens to mop all that unhealthy fried food out. Love this place though.

Karlene Zembrodt Good food! I got the BLT (you can choose from 3 different kinds of bread) and my husband got the hamburger. We both tried shakes and they were great! It wasn’t a thick milkshake but it was very refreshing in this heat!

Ovid Douthit Lively place which gives you access to EVERY server on every visit. They all care about you. Been going there for nearly 50 years. Run by second generation (son of founder.) the double cheeseburger has the right amount of flavor, juice, and taste for a diner. For breakfast, i get the link sausage to take me back down memory lane. If you somehow, you get overlooked, just speak up and they will take care of you. If you are a regular, you are greeted with a smile and a good morning. Many of the servers have been there 10 years or more. If you are looking for a pristine clean, MICHELIN experience, keep on driving, but if you want good diner food shared with people from every walk of life, grab a table or sit at the bar. Let them guide for your first visit, and make up your own mind about it.
