1.Scout

Address: 321 W Hill St, Decatur, GA 30030

Cameron H I’ve been going to Scout on occasion since they first opened years ago. It’s a pretty consistent experience, great food and cocktails, and good service. I love the space, the ability to get a reservation, and their menu options are fantastic. I mainly go for brunch these days, but I should see if they have any HH deals and also try to get there for dinner more often. I’m glad they seem to be thriving and hope they’re around for a long, long time.

Janice Harris 2nd time coming. I enjoyed it so much the first time I came back the next week! I got a little impatient the first time at the wait but when I realized it was freshly cooked I was good. The vegetables are so fresh and really really good! The first time I got the teriyaki bowl, the second visit I tried the spicy but it was really spicy! Ill be going back to the regular teriyaki. Brought my cousin back with me this time and she loved it! Service was really nice. Manager walked around checking on everyone. I will definitely return.

Kay B Recently tried this spot over the weekend after craving some Jamaican food. I’m glad I picked this place because the food was amazing!! I ordered jerk chicken with cabbage and mac & cheese also tried some oxtails with rice & peas, plantains, and a side of collard greens. Their mango lemonade was delicious too. The food was cooked extremely well and you can tell it was freshly cooked. The meats were very moist and nothing was dried out. It was very clean inside and the staff in the front were nice and patient while I decided on what to ordered. They will show you your entire order when bagging so I was sure I received everything I ordered and so made sure I had my utensils as well. I’m definitely coming back.

Archana Nayar Dining at Desi Tadka feels like stepping into a small but well-curated experiment in sensory stimulation. The decor is unique and eclectic, immediately signaling that this is a place unafraid of personality. Every visual detail seems intentional, inviting curiosity before the food even arrives. The real proof, of course, lies on the plate. We ordered the chicken hakka noodles and the mutton dum biryani, and both delivered an impressive depth of flavor. The hakka noodles were bold and satisfying, with seasoning that was assertive without being overwhelming. The mutton dum biryani was the standout. Aromatic, richly layered, and beautifully balanced, it demonstrated a confident command of spice, where no single note dominated and every bite revealed something new. Service was quick and efficient, reinforcing the sense that this restaurant operates with quiet precision. There was no unnecessary delay, no theatrics, just food delivered at the right moment and at its best. Desi Tadka succeeds because it understands a fundamental principle. Great cuisine is not about excess, but about balance, intention, and execution. If you appreciate flavorful food crafted with care and character, this is a place well worth visiting.

5.Soul Foodies

Address: Covington Hwy #600, Decatur, GA 30032

Ochena Prebble If youre looking for authentic soul food and Louisiana Creole that’s cooked with care, Soulfoodies is the spot. This isnt fast food—and thats a good thing. Everything is prepared from scratch while you wait, and you can see the incredibly clean kitchen as the staff works. The wait can be long, but its well worth it for the quality. The food is delicious and tastes truly authentic. The Turkey Wings over Rice are an absolute must-try—theyre amazing but they sell out quickly, so get there early if thats what you have your heart set on. I also love that theyre open 24 hours with a full menu, including breakfast. Its the perfect place for a late-night craving or an early morning meal

Zoe I had such an amazing experience here that I’m already planning my next visit. My server recommended the duck curry, and I’m so glad I trusted his opinion because it was absolutely amazinnng—rich, aromatic, and full of depth. I paired my meal with one of THE OG Thai drink, which was refreshing and the perfect complement to the spices. And of course, I couldn’t leave without the mango sticky rice, which was fresh, sweet, and the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. The location is also a bonus. After finishing my dinner, the area was perfect for taking a little walk—safe, scenic, and relaxing after such a satisfying meal. If you want authentic flavors, great recommendations, and a beautiful atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant, this is the spot.

Chris Vallee They have some amazing specials as well as solid menu staples. When you order a lunch they offer you soup or salad and we tried the Butternut Squash with one meal and the French Onion with the other. Both did not disappoint! Prices were reasonable too. I think 2 entrees (1 being a special) that each came with the soup and 2 drinks was all around $45 bucks with tip! If you’re looking for some delicious food in the downtown Decatur area you should pop in!

Latoya G Brunch here was amazing! The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and the shrimp and grits were so good they were gone in two minutes! The portions were generous, and Zakeia kept our drinks flowing—especially that frozen peach and strawberry margarita! A straight vibe from start to finish!

11.Huskey’s Kitchen

Address: 1900 2nd Ave suite a, Decatur, GA 30032

(501) user ratings total:

Rebecca Sky H Stopped by Huskey’s Kitchen for breakfast and left full, impressed, and slightly seasoned. Ordering and paying by QR code was quick and easy. No waiting around trying to flag someone down. Just scan, order, and settle in. He ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Omelet, creamy Parmesan grits, and cinnamon sugar croissant bites. I ordered Breakfast Sampler, a side of buttermilk pancakes, and coffee. Yes, it was a lot. No regrets were made. The food was fresh, hot, and clearly cooked to order, which explains why it took a little while to come out. Once it hit the table, it was worth the wait. Now let’s talk seasoning. Somebody in the kitchen is very confident with salt. A little heavy handed, but not enough to ruin the meal. Everything was still flavorful and enjoyable. The cinnamon sugar croissant bites were the real standout. Sweet, soft, and absolutely responsible for me ignoring the fact that I was already full. Overall, Huskey’s Kitchen is a solid brunch spot with bold flavors and a relaxed vibe. I would definitely return and just ask for lighter seasoning next time.

13.The Deer and The Dove

Address: 155 Sycamore St, Decatur, GA 30030

(477) user ratings total:

Cam W The Deer and The Dove is the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular on your very first visit. Our server, Hannah, passed the vibe check immediately—fully in sync with our energy, and effortlessly personable. She didn’t just take an order; she read the table and set the tone for a start to an experience. The venison was the initial flex — perfectly rare, melt-in-your-mouth tender, with subtle coffee notes that hit first like a smooth espresso before settling into deep, earthy richness. The duck fat potatoes were unreal: a crisp, salty exterior giving way to a creamy interior so good no other potato could compare. The true showstopper was the rabbit…this was a choice out of curiosity. Might I say it delivered …bold, rewarding, and beautifully executed. And the Bear Creek Farms Oxtail Mezzaluna? Pure soul. Rich, luxurious, and comforting, like a warm hug that knows exactly what it’s doing. What truly elevated the experience was having the opportunity to personally thank the brigade. As someone who sees food and a dinning experience as an art-form of expression and edible empathy; that moment mattered. You could taste the intention behind every plate. Exceptional food, real hospitality, and a vibe that lingers long after the last bite.

Jae 20 Service was awesome! Food was good no need for extra seasoning!!!! The chicken Philly could use more chicken than cheese. The shrimp rasta pasta is ok, the sauce is a little to thick for me. The rasta Philly is good. Fries are always fresh and will never make the photo!
