Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant - Vandalia

Rating: 4.3 /5
Sean Guitar Stopped in while driving across Illinois, and very glad I did. The food was reasonably priced, and the drinks moreso. The complementary chips and salsa were some of the better Ive had, and the chipotle chicken fajitas were amazing - I ate until it hurt. I also tried the cinnamon apple empanada, and it was okay - the pastry wasnt very fluffy, but still tasty.

Somkit (Touch of Thai) - Dixon

John Moore If you want Thai or Japanese food,Somkit,(Formerly Touch of Thai) is the place to go when in Dixon Illinois. Located in downtown, open Tuesday-Saturday,they offer a nice selection of lunch and dinner specials My wife is Gluten Free and they were very accommodating. Service was fantastic!...thank you Leichan S. My wife had Panang Curry with brown rice. I had the Chicken Pad See Eiw with a Philly Roll. Needless to say,we had no leftovers! Everything had great flavor . You can dine in ,delivery or carry-out, either way you will not be disappointed. You can expect fast service, authentic cuisine and fantastic Asian cuisine.

Hickory Grove Restaurant - Alton

Rating: 4.5 /5
Tina Martin -Pickett- Food is great and the service is good. Everyone is polite and makes sure you have everything you want. Sundays are their busiest day especially after church. But the wait for a table to become available is not too long of a wait. Id recommend this place to anyone thats wants a homestyle like cooked meal to go here. You wont be disappointed.

Amano Bistro Chicago - Chicago

Rating: 4.8 /5
jerytor I will live in North Center in a few days so I decided to check out one of the restaurants close to my future home. Amano Bistro was such a great discovery. The interior is not that big but very cozy. The ambiance was nice and people were not loud at all, unlike many others places. I loved that I could see the kitchen and was able to watch the chefs preparing the food. The glass window is a very nice touch. My waitress was welcoming and attentive to my needs from A to Z. Food was excellent, I had a free welcoming appetizer, the ragu pasta, a glass of red wine, a nutella tiramisu, and a café. I will definitely come back because I want my wife to also experience this top-notch restaurant :)

TapRoot - Decatur

Rating: 4.5 /5
Stephen Rigg I am a local but this was my first time at Taproot, it was delicious, I will definitely go back soon. I had the Signature Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes and garlic roasted green beans. I’ll admit when the food came out, I thought I was going to leave hungry, but it really was plenty of food. I also started with the appetizer they had in special, some breaded mushrooms with rooster sauce. They were good, but I was wishing I would have tried the Calamari. The server was so friendly and great. Pretty too. ;) The restaurant is on Merchant Street in downtown Decatur, one of the coolest streets in Decatur with lights stretched over the street.
