1 /5 Celina Glitta: I am a lawyer who had to go to Dixon Correctional to get a client to sign some papers. All the same, I stopped in this coffee shop with my mom who came along on this trip with me from Chicago. The lady who worked in here who I assumed was the owner was very unwelcoming. She had a frown on her face from the moment I walked in. I guess they were having some Avon or Mary Kay event. I ordered a drip coffee for my mom and then decided I wanted some myself and said I would put the peppermint creamer that was on the counter in my coffee. She said I couldn’t use it, that the creamer was for the event. She seemed pretty angry saying this, like how am I supposed to know that creamer wasn’t for paying customers? FYI, the town was empty and there was nobody in the coffee shop anyway. This lady acted like we were genuinely bothering her. As we walked out, my mom joking said, “Sorry I rained on your parade.”
Then, the woman screamed passive aggressively, “You have a nice day now.”
My mom and I were complete strangers and this woman acted like she wanted to fight with us from the moment we walked in. Very very ignorant and hostile. I regret leaving a tip. Cupcake we got was extremely cold and stale tasting. Never had a worse cupcake in my life!
P.S. I just saw some of the other one star reviews. Apparently, this owner has been extremely rude to other people as well. Shame!!
