Mimmos Italian Restaurant - McLeansboro

lucas reever We stopped in on our way through McLeansboro, and this place is a gem! The staff is extremely courteous and professional. The fried mushrooms were fantastic. Their house salad almost stole the show until the pizza came out. The pizza is almost St Louis style, but a little thicker crust. The pizza sauce is sweeter than most, and delicious. I highly recommend stopping in here!

Kej The sukiyaki was amazing — rich and comforting without being too heavy, and the ingredients soaked up the flavor perfectly. The salmon was very fresh and smooth, with great texture. Everything felt well prepared and high quality. Would definitely come back again. Our server, Tanya, was amazing. She was very friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Her service really elevated the whole dining experience

kelle williams This restaurant is always on point! This is our 3rd time visiting. Sawyer, our adorable server, was spectacular, very attentive! The seasonal pizza my husband had was so good, and the stuffed poblano aka chille relleno, was incredibly flavorful! Another one of our past faves is the beef stroganoff, very satisfying and filling and the beef is really tender! The seasonal drinks were all good with a nod to the pear and brambleberry. Next stop is the Destihl Brewery since we just found out they have a completely different menu!

Shirshaditya Gupta Outstanding burgers and great service - and the unique, quirky history of the place along with the wooden-abbeyesque architecture gives good food for thought as you eat. Would love to be back.

William Gunn 5-Star Review Some may call it a hole in the wall, I call it a diamond in the ruff or even a needle in a haystack. This place is an incredible find and a massive upgrade to anything in the entire area. The flavors are absolutely stunning—each bite is a new delight. The Mongolian Beef is, hands down, the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s clear the kitchen puts heart and care into every dish. The absence of alcohol is no issue at all—the food alone shines and makes the experience worthwhile. If you’re on the fence, I strongly encourage you to give it a chance. You’ll leave savoring every morsel and already planning your next visit. Highly recommend!
