Cannovas Pizzeria - (Near Galena, IL)

Kelso Smith Absolutely amazing experience. We came here for New Year’s Eve got seated right away & ordered a salad pasta & burger. Everything was delicious. We ordered a family size of French onion soup to take home. We got home & it spilled everywhere. I called just to see if they would be willing to give me another one & without hesitation they replaced it NO CHARGE. Thank you Doc Rotz staff. Happy New Years!

Robert Kerns Five meals over four day...I think that says something. Great food for every meal. The service was excellent, the portions were huge and the taste was amazing! If you are in the local area to see your Sailor graduate then please do not skip this restaurant. We made many lasting memories around their tables. Do not skip the tarimsiu. It is BREATHTAKING! If I am ever back in this part of the country again I know where I will eat. Thank you!

Van Der Karr Ryan (Ryan) Completely impressed with the experience. We arrived later in the day and despite being relatively close to the end of the day, everyone was pleasant and the service was outstanding. They serve vraft cocktails and an upscale twist on bar food and everything was delicious! We tried multiple dishes, various drinks and an appetizer and there wasnt a single letdown in the bunch. To top it off my son ordered one of the insane milkshakes (it came with an entire piece of cake on top!!) and it was wonderful! When we finished we were all full and completely enjoyed the experience. It even cost us less than other similar restaurants we tried out during the holidays. We all HIGHLY recommend going here!! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Ethen I got their house special burger with fries and a slice of cheesecake. The bartender saw that I didnt get much fries and got me an extra half or ¼ order for free to make up for it. Really great service. The burger was really good, and the cheesecake was awesome. The cheesecake was a bit pricey ($8) but the rest of the menu is reasonably priced so you wont be breaking the bank by getting it. Ill definitely be coming by again. The only gripe I have is I could taste alcohol in my diet coke. Maybe the glasses arent cleaned thoroughly enough. Not a huge deal but I dont drink so it was definitely an unpleasant surprise.

Timothy Coffey My wife and I had to travel to Effingham for an appointment. It was a long drive from home. We enjoy finding new places to eat so we are always on the lookout. We looked for a place in Salem to get some pizza and found this place on Google Maps. It had a rating of 4.2 so we gave it a try. This restaurant is nothing fancy but it is a clean and pleasant place. I often judge the cleanliness of a restaurant by the condition of the bathroom. This place is kept VERY clean. The server we encountered was a very sweet and competent young lady. We ordered a thin crust all meat pizza. I have been saving the best part of this review for last. The pizza was honestly one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I was very impressed and I will be coming back when I am in the area. I cannot wait to try some of the other varieties. The restaurant is not a far drive from the interstate and if you are reading this while traveling you will not regret a short detour off I-57 to get some pizza you will not forget. Elliott Serrano Wonderful restaurant with a very old-school type of charm. The food is very good, with lots of options from burgers of the economic side to the "beef and reef" for those who want to spend a little more. I ordered the pork loin chops with garlic mashed potatoes and French onion soup. Got an order of crab cakes as an appetizer, which were very tasty! My date and I took a seat at the bar as we waited for our table. A modest selection of beers, wines, and spirits were available. I had the "Bikini Bottom" ale, which was perfect. Im definitely returning to try the meatloaf!
