Country Store & Catering - (Near Sycamore, IL)

Michelle Foy Moontime Smokin Que is a hidden gem of a place in my opinion. It’s located right next to the Crystal Lake train station on the side street. We tried a couple items which were all very good. For starters smoked chicken wings were very flavorful! Even for health conscious people, they are smoked not fried. We also had a bowl of thier chicken chowder whereby the chicken pieces were smoked and gave a unique flavor to the soup. The corn muffins were ok but could be better. The beef brisket we ordered by the pound was full of flavor. They smoke all the meats on site and boy are they good. We like that they asked which cut of meat we would like; lean, fatty or mixed. I think it’s good to try both your first time. We tried both and both were very satisfying. The coleslaw was very good too. It was fresh and a nice change up being a mixed flavor of sweet & tangy. They offer several inhouse made sauces including a new one that is spicy sriracha. It complimented everything really nicely. We would have loved to have tried desert but we didn’t have room and took some of the leftovers home. If you’re looking for really good traditional smoked bbq and can’t get to Texas then this IS the place!!

Erika F Absolutely delicious food! We had the spaghetti and (huge, super yummy) meatball… fettuccini Alfredo (delicious sauce)… two small pizzas and cheesy garlic bread (yummmm). The pizzas were tied for the best we’ve ever had - delicious dough, sauce, cheese and toppings. Service was great. Prices are very reasonable. Please excuse my pics - we were pretty much full when I thought how I needed to review this awesome place. Highly highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

Jen Schaefer They squeezed the 2 of us in even though no reservations were available. Both the meatballs and meat sauce are pork free, so we had lots of options on the menu! Would highly recommend the lasagna. The chicken parmesan was also delicious. Soup or salad is complimentary with your entree. Id recommend the minestrone over the chicken broth. Tiramisu was a great end to the meal. Well definitely be back!

Guerra Karla (Khadijah Assaad) I had an amazing experience at Los Compadres in Waukegan! The Huachinango (Red Snapper) was so delicious, and Angela provided exceptional service, attending to our every need. The restaurant even organized a beautiful table for mothers to enjoy. I highly recommend visiting this establishment for excellent food and extraordinary customer service. I missed the Karaoke but I will definitely be back soon! Gracias Angela.

Isabel Rodriguez If you aren’t going to Carmen’s for breakfast, you are missing out! We ordered several different dishes to try and they were all delicious. All homemade! I am not really an horchata person, but their horchata is amazing! The staff was very nice. 100% recommend.

Brad Bergstrom Always one of my favorite thin crust pizzas. The blend of cheese they use, gives the pizza a nice salty flavor. Then their sauce has a sweetness that balances well with the cheese. Overall a very good pizza. Addition to the pizza, their chopped and Cesar salads are good too! Give them a try! Next time, I need to try their deep dish/ thicker crust.
