Sabrina Crawford Matisse is the definition of a hidden gem on Chicago’s North Side. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming, and the service was spot-on and attentive without being overbearing. The food? Incredible. We started with the garlic parm wings and quesadillas, and I’m not exaggerating when I say those wings are some of the best I’ve had in Chicago! They were perfectly crispy with a garlicky kick. For mains, my friend ordered the beef tenderloin (melt-in-your-mouth good) and I went for the Devil’s Chicken. The chicken was juicy and bathed in a tomato sauce with olives, capers, white wine, and garlic…… an absolute flavor bomb. Drinks were another highlight. They make their own syrups and juices, and you can taste the creativity in every cocktail. Dessert sealed the deal: the bread pudding and mango crème brûlée were both outstanding. Bonus points for the heated outdoor patio that stays open until November and their late night hours which is perfect for lingering after a night out. Matisse has been holding it down in the neighborhood for 24 years, and it’s easy to see why. This place deserves all the love.

John Moore We were staying overnight in Quincy Illinois and after driving all day along the Great River Rd,we wanted a nice dinner close to our hotel. For some reason the reviews were not great but we decided to give The Abbey a try and we are glad we did! We were seated immediately . We explained to our server Sally they my wife is Gluten free and she was super helpful. They offer a nice menu with a wide variety of food options. We started with their drink specials..a frozen vodka drink and a Redemption bourbon double. Prices were super cheap in our opinion. My wife had the baby back ribs with mixed vegetables and they fell off the bone. Sauce was amazing. I had their Surf and Turf special . Steak was cooked just right and the shrimp stuffed with crab meat were very good. Portions were huge and unfortunately we could not take anything home since we were staying at a hotel. This is a family owned and operated that feels like home. Decor is really cool and definitely a place to stop in whether just for drinks, appetizers,burgers or steaks.

Beata Kochmansli This charming Italian restaurant offers a truly delightful dining experience. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting, the cuisine is exceptional with authentic flavors, and the martinis are crafted to perfection. Attentive service and a cozy setting made our evening unforgettable. A wonderful spot to return to again and again.

jeff grove Had a great time at Hydeout Bar & Grill with friends — it’s a nice spot for both business talks and casual hangouts. The food prices are reasonable, and everything tasted great. The atmosphere is comfortable and laid-back, especially with their nice outdoor seating area where you can relax and enjoy. They often host weekend events, which make the place even more fun. Drink prices are also fair. Definitely a good place to chill and unwind.

Mike Rohan Had a great time at Chili’s in Waukegan! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. The 6-ounce sirloin with shrimp was cooked perfectly and full of flavor—absolutely delicious! The restaurant was clean and welcoming. A perfect spot for a casual, tasty dinner. Will definitely be back!

Octozek Owens Best food I ever had. This place makes me feel like a kid again. Every time I step foot in this establishment I’m reminded that there is a God… better then Sparta.
