Dairy Queen Grill & Chill - (Near Carmi, IL)

Michael Jennings I used to live out here years ago and come here a lot.But moved a while ago, so its been probably close to twenty years since ive been here. And im happy to report its just as amazing as it was back then!!! I got the double cheeseburger combo, and it literally tastes just as fantastic as it did twenty years ago! I love the interior of this restaurant! They have car shows here in the summer, and all of the walls are plastered with pictures of beautiful, classic cars! This place has a nostalgic feel like an old hot dog stand from the fifties! Service was impeccable and very fast!

Shawn Carpenter The food was awesome. The homemade chicken and dumpling soup really was homemade ... just like Grandmas. The corned beef hash portion was HUGE. My friend said the BLT wrap was delicious however the french fries!! Woah!! You have to have the french fries here! The waitress was nice and chatted with us as well as explaining the menu. Fantastic job :) The decor is nostalgic. I love the classic American feel. Ill definitely be back when Im anywhere near this place.

Amanda Moran This tiny bar/restaurant packs a lot of punches. The food is great (better than I expected). For $37 we ordered two cocktails, a small pizza and appetizer. There are some leftovers, but not for lack of flavor. More that I was excited to take them home! Nice atmosphere with friendly people too. The view from the dining area was great and refreshing. Plenty of parking and a smoking area for those folks who partake. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. I recommend their t-shirts for this little Kankakee gem.

susan kingsley Honestly, when I moved to Dekalb five years ago, I was scared. As corny as it sounds, I wanted an awesome local diner. And that’s what I receive here. Chris is amazing and accommodating, have never had one issue. Everyone there is very sweet and it’s much appreciated.

Tammy Bittner First time stopping at their particular Taco Bell. The store is very clean and the staff came RIGHT up to take out order. Bravo there. The bathrooms were clean. However, this is the smallest Nacho Bell grande I’ve ever received. The Chicken flatbread melt I ordered had only 3 small pieces of chicken, a small sprinkling of cheese and a ton of sauce. I know it is on the value menus, but I was thinking I’d be eating more then flatbread and sauce. yuck!!! This was a take out so I couldn’t go back to have them redo. I definitely would not recommend unless you check everything in your order before leaving.

Ryan Albert One of the best experiences Ive had on the Southern Illinois wine trail. It is a must stop and visit and give them the opportunity to wow you their selection of wines, spirits and beer. You will not be disappointed.
