1 /5 Abby Cates: DO NOT EAT HERE! TERRIBLE FOOD AND ROACHES! Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had and the food was inedible. I really wish I could give this place an amazing review since its a local restaurant but I cant. We originally made a reservation for 5 people but called back to add 6 more. The, I assume, owner asked if we could come in later so they can accommodate and bring in more people to serve us. They was absolutely fine with us, we understand 11 people can be overwhelming. Walking in your immediately hit with the smell of urine and dust. There was not enough menus for our party and looks like one of the tables was made into the owners desk with everything he needs including a heating pad. Our waiter was nice enough but hit his vape (e-cigarette) while speaking with us and could not keep up with out party. We waited THREE HOURS for our food. A long wait I can handle, IF its delicious. The bread they brought out came with cold stick of butter straight from the fridge. The biscuits the gave us were Pillsbury. We kept having to request refills and majority of the time the refills never happened. My mother watched two cockroaches run across the walls. When we actually got the food we ordered, it was beyond disgusting. I do not know what they put in it, but it tasted like they dumped a whole ash tray in it. Please save yourself the time and money and DO NOT EAT HERE.

5 /5 Steve Schmidt: The restaurant is an absolute delight! You get so much food for such a reasonable price. My wife and I could only eat half of our food and had to take the rest home. Fantastic sausages, brats, German mustard, sauerkraut, red cabbage, a German potato salad, bread and butter, apple sauce, pickled beets and a beer, $20. Jagerschnitzel and all the same sides except the beer, $20. A massive jagerschnitzel. The owner and his son are wonderful company and it was a very homey, cozy place. Great people. I look forward to taking the rest of the family some time.

5 /5 SeeMidTN Brent M: A great place to eat if youre not in a hurry. My wife and I were on vacation when we stumbled across this place. I saw 2 employees, the owner and his son who apparently makes everything from scratch. Regardless of which entrees you order, he brought extra food like potato pancakes and pretzel bread. We left full and took a lot more with us. But it did take a while. The owner made good conversation with us for some of that time. As a history buff, I liked to look at the 150 year old building and all the interesting stuff on display.

5 /5 Dave lave: Love this place! I had visited Bavaria last year and had been hungry for a good schnitzel ever since. We decided to check this out on a Sunday afternoon. They had real German beer from Paulaner and Bitburger! We had a chance to chat with the owner while enjoying our drinks. We got to hear all about the history of the building back to 1875 when it was a pub and general store. Allegedly John Dillinger and his crew stopped here for some drinks during their heyday. The original 1875 bar had been well restored and kept. Even the original Mercury mirrors are in place. Every wall has something interesting to see. Paintings of German hillside, steins from around the globe, even a couple suits of armor! To be honest, it feels more like youre eating at someones home instead of a restaurant. The Food: we started with pretzel bread and mustard. It was amazing. The pretzel bread was cooked to perfection and the mustard was horseradish type which I love. For main course we got alpenschnitzel and Munich schnitzel. Both of them were delicious and huge! We also got potato salad which was served warm as is traditional. Definitely made from scratch and delicious! What you should know: The wait might be longer than you are used to. All of the food is made from scratch which takes time. In traditional German restaurants, its normal to enjoy a round of drinks or two before your food comes out. Gives you time to visit with your friends and enjoy the experience. Likewise, its perfectly acceptable to stick around for a while after dinner. There is also a small gift shop and a dance hall which is for rent!

3 /5 JD Thornton: The drive and wait were very long, but the people were fantastic. Service was great. Sadly, felt like the food was okay but not really worth the 2 hr wait. The brat bites appetizer with mustard cheese was the best, could not stop eating it. Pictured is: Munich Schnitzel, buttered spatzl, potato pancake with applesauce, and the brat bites appetizer (which I definitely recommend).
