Tim Swiat Just had a wonderful dinner here while in town for the 32nd Annual Showcase of Excellence Jazz Band and Show Choir Competition. We did call earlier in the week for a reservation, which would be highly recommended. For starters, we very much enjoyed the Hawaiian Aho Tuna. For entrees, we enjoyed the Mahi Mahi Special, 6oz Peppered Bacon Wrapped Filet, Medium Rare, and the Ribeye, Medium. For sides, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes and, from our servers recommendation, the Scalloped Corn. Entrees come with either a House Salad or Soup du Jour. The Muddog Soup was a Seafood Medley bisque and was divine! Everything was cooked to perfection. We wished we would have planned better as we did not have room for dessert. Looking forward to visiting again when coming through town. The atmosphere has a very low key vibe of professionalism and conversation. The patrons all seemd to enjoy the quiet atmosphere to work their way through the menu and conversation.

Jordan Gary I’m convinced S.K.Y. could hand me a menu written in Wingdings and whatever I randomly pointed to would still taste great. But let’s skip the suspense: the Hamachi Sashimi is the star, the headliner, the reason to book a reservation. Order one if you’re polite, two if you’re sensible, and three or four if you’re honest with yourself. It was the best thing we ate all week and could easily be its own tasting menu. The Warm Mushroom Salad followed the Hamachi, which was unfortunate—for the salad. Tough act to follow, though still perfectly fine if you enjoy being reminded of your earlier, better choices. Maine Lobster Dumplings: generous portion, legitimately delicious. Slow Roasted Prime Rib: also generous, tender, and cooked exactly the way you hope but rarely get. Spice Roasted Cauliflower: if you insist on vegetables, these at least reward your virtue. Desserts are not optional. The Banana Budino is the second-best thing on the menu and fully aware of it. The Carrot Cake is excellent—so good it practically files a complaint if you skip it. In short: go for the Hamachi, stay for everything else, leave wondering how soon you can justify your next visit.

Kyle délicieux! Visited on a Friday without a reservation and waited ~45 minutes on a table for 3. You can grab drinks from the bar and enjoy them in the building lobby while you wait. Loved the spacious patio. Mon Ami Gabi is on a quiet street, making its patio setting unique for Chicagoland restaurants. Service was exceptional. Some of the best I’ve seen in a while. Tried the baguette, oysters, shrimp cocktail, frisée and lardon salad, and hangar steak. Every dish was a hit, especially the frisée and lardon, such a unique flavor combination. One of the best I’ve tried in a while, would recommend for plenty of occasions.

Chelsea Beran My husband and I worked with the incredible owners to host a private dinner in their banquet room after our small wedding ceremony. It was wonderful! Debbie was extraordinarily helpful, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was charming and beautiful, the staff was warm and friendly, and the fees were absolutely unbeatable. We will come back often for anniversaries and date nights for sure!

Jen B This is a must-try place. We happened in on a night they had a prime rib special and it was melt in your mouth tender and well seasoned. It was served with asparagus that was cooked perfectly. Also recommend the New York strip, the Greek fries, and the house vinaigrette. Our server was great, friendly, attentive but not annoying. And the old world supperclub vibe is great. We would definitely go back.

Delaney Winterstein We had the most wonderful experience thanks to our server, Josh. From the moment we sat down, he was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our night special. Every recommendation was spot on, he checked in at the perfect times without ever hovering, and his friendliness made us feel so welcomed. You can tell he truly loves what he does — the kind of service that elevates an entire meal. The food was amazing, but his energy and professionalism was what made the evening unforgettable. We left talking about how we can’t wait to come back! If you’re dining here, you’ll have a stellar experience. We can’t recommend this place enough!
