Kara A My family had a wonderful experience at Parkway Restaurant yesterday evening. We arrived around 4:30–5pm on a Saturday—just before the rush—and were warmly greeted by a kind bearded gentleman who happily gave us the booth we wanted. The place felt clean, from the tables to the window sills to the blinds (even the women’s bathroom). We sat near the kitchen, which was pleasantly calm and not noisy like at some diners. Our server, a friendly young woman with blonde hair, was attentive and knew the menu well. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. I ordered the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich—exactly the classic I’d been craving: dark gravy, instant mashed potatoes, Wonder bread, and perfectly thin roast beef. Pure 1980s small-town nostalgia! My husband’s fried seafood platter was so good he kept insisting I try it, and everything—from the fish to the crinkle fries—had that old-school flavor. My son said his hamburger was one of the best he’s ever had. Even on an off day, I’d happily eat at Parkway again. Great service, delicious comfort food, and a nostalgic diner feel. What a cherished experience considering all the chain restaurants we are forced to eat at these days!

Jeanna Lutz I went inside and got my food, there were a couple customers eating, and the place looked pretty clean… the guy working at the counter was nice when I got my food. I got a 2 for 1 chicken taco dinner, and most of my food was fine, but one of the limes was dried out, and then at the end of me eating my second taco, I bit into a little piece of red plastic, I thought it was lettuce, or a piece of tomato at first l, but it wasn’t. I called them and let them know, they apologized and offered me a refund or a replacement. That’s good customer service and the way it’s supposed to be. THIS IS THE BEST FLAN I HAVE EVER HAD!! Thanks!!

Terry Carrigan I stopped for a quick bite during lunch. Melissa was my server and I have to say Melissa was very attentive and professional. The big thing for me is that so many servers and bartenders seem to forget the job is not done once the food is served and Melissa stopped by to check on how everything was on three occasions. I hope Melissa is my server the next time I eat at Froth and Fork

Michael Telesky What a delightful surprise to find this place right next to some high speed chargers in Mattoon. Service was friendly, quick and great plating/presentation. I had the miso soup, somosas and basil tofu, with no peppers. Everything was absolutely delicious.

Kvothefan Wife and I came in for a late lunch. It turned out to be one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had. I dont say that lightly. My wife loved her cornbeef brisket as well. The food was amazing, the service was great, and it was a fun place to eat. We will DEFINITELY be going back. The hardest part for me will be trying not to order the pulled pork as I heard there soups are amazing as well.
