Woodys Steak House - Ottawa

Rating: 4 /5
Shawn Hamrick Hold onto your undies for this one ladies and gents. We’re from out of state and looked up where to find a steak. Lo and behold this hidden jem. Don’t let the other 1 star reviews get you down. This is a great place with amazing food. Anyway there was this waiter named Alexander. My guys and I have decided we would ride majestic steeds to the end of time for this fine fella! He was beyond amazing! From start to finish our experience with him was nothing short of amazing! I hope this review helps and excites your taste buds.

Diver Down - Golconda

Rating: 4.7 /5
Hiking With Shawn Diver Down has the best burgers in Southern Illinois. I always get a mushroom Swiss burger. its well seasoned and isnt dry. Just writing this review makes me want one now. They have really good fries, too. They have fried mushrooms as big as your fist and the pepperjack triangles are amazing. They always know what we want when we first walk in. Great staff, very clean place, restaurant on one side, bar on the other. Everything I have to say about Diver Down is good. Golconda is one the oldest towns in Illinois and very worth a visit, especially when recreating in the Shawnee National Forest. Go check them out!

Brickhouse BBQ - Burgers - Brews - Washington

Erin Glasnovich We were seated quickly and the staff was attentive and friendly. Our app came out and drinks were refreshed consistently; the main courses were taking a little time but nothing we noticed being too long. A manager or owner came over and apologied, explained the issue that happened in the kitchen thet got our order backlogged. We were offered money off our order or a skillet cookie. When the food came it was hot and delicious. And we took the cookie to-go! Definitely recommend this very kindly run establishment.

Porch Chair BBQ PCB - Ina

Rating: 4.4 /5
Bailey Bryan (Beetle) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Texan -Approved BBQ Worth the Stop I’ve been stopping at this place for years — long before Covid — whenever I roll through town next to the Love’s truck stop. Let me tell you, it blows fast food at the truck stop out of the water every single time. This is REAL barbecue, done right. The new remodel is fantastic — the building is bigger, more spacious, and feels brand new inside. They didn’t just rebuild; they upgraded. Now there’s plenty of room, new amenities, and even a line of merchandise so you can take a little piece of PCB BBQ with you on the road. On top of that, they now serve cold beer on tap and in cans, which makes the experience even better after a long haul. The food? Absolutely top-notch. The pulled pork is smoky and tender, brisket is melt-in-your-mouth, and the ribs fall right off the bone. Their nachos are a meal in themselves, piled high with queso, pork, jalapeños, olives, sour cream, and sauce — Texas-sized and Texas-flavored. Even the sides hit hard: the mac n cheese is rich and creamy, the beans pack smoky flavor, and the slaw and tater salad are fresh and classic. And it’s not just for the humans — they even sell smoked dog bones for your four-legged copilot. My Aussie loves them, and it’s a great touch that shows they really think about everyone who rolls through. If you’re tired of the same old fast food options at Love’s, do yourself a favor and walk over here instead. This place has been consistently excellent for years, and now with the remodel and alcohol, it’s better than ever. As a Texan who knows good BBQ, this place gets my stamp of approval every single time. $4 Dog Bones , $3 cans of beer…

Manzellas Italian Patio - Champaign

Rating: 4.5 /5
Kent Whitesell Manzellas is a Champaign tradition. I have been enjoying their delicious food since 1980. I am not sure when they first opened. Reminds me of 100 year old family recipes that have been handed down for generations. Family and locally owned. I crave their meat lasagna every few months. We also always order an antipasto salad to share, with the house vinaigrette of course.
