Sams Cafe - (Near Carbondale, IL)

Doc H We found this adorable fantastic diner when we came down for the eclipse. We drove 1 hour out of the way to have yet another fabulous breakfast. The food is great. We are gluten free so didnt get toast or pancakes. The omelets and skillets are delicious.

Joel Sommer Waterloo, IL location: huge buffet on Sundays, which I highly recommend. Everything from bacon, eggs and sausage to tacos, wings, shrimp, and many other great Mexican favorites. The owner shared a bit of his time with my wife and I, truly making us feel welcomed. Everyone always works hard and has a smile on their face. Check out my picture of the orange slice flower ice cube that was in my wifes mimosa. He then brought us a margarita which had an ice cube in it the shape of a diamond, which they use on higher quality drinks. Columbia, IL location: Great Mexican food, fast with great prices. john havlis Awesome street tacos. Nothing fancy here. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Onion, cilantro and cheese if u want. 2 sauces, red and green. The do have a few beers and a bar. The service is great. The counter girl very attentive and super pleasant. I like the establishment. Its all about the food not the atmosphere. You can order 1 taco if you want and not have to have the entire meal. I highly recommend Fastacos.
