1 /5 Caroline S: I am highly unimpressed with the route the bartender took to verify the legitimacy of our IDs. Because she was unsure, she thought the best idea was to show other customers and ask their opinions which we found extremely unprofessional and violated our privacy. All of us were 21+ with one person being 23. When reading the cards, she claimed a 2003 birth year was under 21? Basic math tells us that 2025-2003=22. We ended up being denied service. I understand that it is better to be safe than sorry, but asking other customers if we should or shouldn’t be served was extremely inappropriate.

3 /5 Ella Grunden: Have been going here since it was The Tackle Box Used to live nearby. Now a Different bartender every time, but I dont visit often. Why is there a sign that says:"No Dogs"??? On the door??? My dogs were ALWAYS welcome! Everyone knew Buzz! This really saddens me! The Wild Dog, named for a Basset Hound...isnt dog friendly ???

1 /5 Katie Miller: DO NOT GO HERE!!! My experience at this particular bar makes so much more sense having read some of the disgusting reviews I’ve read on here! Last week, me and some of my friends were in town for a wedding. None of us are from Illinois, and we’re just looking for a place to grab a drink and catch up. The “service” we received was absolutely baffling. The lady at the bar ignored us for several minutes, before making her way over to us. She was noticeably intoxicated, and slurred quite a bit. She took my ID, glanced at it before commenting, “2003? You’re not over 21.” My initial confusion turned to absolute disbelief when she took ALL of our IDs, walked to the other side of the bar and HANDED THEM TO A GROUP OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. A bunch of strangers were holding and reading our personal information! After FAR too long, she returned our IDs before walking away again. She came back a few minutes and announced that she couldn’t serve us. We only left because of how incredibly uncomfortable the whole experience had made us. We of course had every right to be there, but no longer wished to be in that establishment. To make the matter more complicated, me and two of my friends did decide to write reviews on Yelp, only to express our discomfort. However the OWNER of the bar then decided to respond to our reviews in a way that I find extremely unprofessional and immature. This is his exact response: “Bruh,  you looked 12 years old with out of state ID’s.  Really? Sorry again.  99% of the time we make dreams come true.   God speed.” I’m writing THIS review to genuinely express how incredibly disgusted and appalled I am with this whole situation. I wish there was a no stars option in writing this. My initial thoughts on the whole matter only consisted of the unprofessional way my personal information was shared with other customers, not to mention, STRANGERS! The owner’s response just made me all the more upset. The audacity of a grown man trying to run a business, to then profile customers, online or in person, in ANY way, shape, or form is actually disgusting to me. Again I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE!

5 /5 Jessica Fisher: Love the new owners. They have made this place so welcoming to anyone and everyone. If youre looking for a fun but chill place to get a drink and relax, this is definitely the spot.
