What Clients Are Saying The Berghoff Restaurant (GG)
4 /5 ImAS: Bright and cozy atmosphere.
The staff are very friendly.
The food is delicious and the portions are just right.
The pan-fried pork chop is tender, and the fried chicken cutlet has a crispy exterior.
The German-style gnocchi is quite unique.
This feels like a popular restaurant frequented by locals. Recommended.
5 /5 Sinem Altunbas: The Berghoff Restaurant is such a cute, happy, and welcoming place. It’s always like that, but especially at Christmas time. The chicken schnitzel is wonderful, the pretzel is delicious, and the Black Forest cake is a must. The service is truly amazing, friendly, attentive, and it makes the whole experience even better. We always come back for a lovely dinner whenever we’re in Chicago, and it never disappoints!
3 /5 Adam Trinkel: We were excited to visit and had reservations 30 days in advance. When we arrived they said they didn’t have our reservation (it could’ve been an error on our part).
We asked for suggestions from the server and she said to read the menu.
We ordered the roast beef sandwich, turkey, turkey BLT, sausage trio, and the deconstructed chicken cordon bleu. Everything was okay.
We ordered the pretzel appetizer (delicious) and the perogies (good, but pricy).
We went in the early evening.
Restroom was clean.
We probably wouldn’t return, but the atmosphere was decorated for the holidays.
5 /5 Marty C.: Great German food. We were visiting for work in the area and stopped in for lunch. I got the ASB burger which was phenomenal. So good we went back for dinner later that week and I tried the meatloaf, but it was not quite as good as the burger.
The meatloaf could have been more firm, but instead was a bit mushy.
Potatoes were great, carrots and asparagus were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The beer was definitely the star of the evening. They brew their own beer as well.
5 /5 Erica Fuller: Considered the oldest family-owned restaurant in the US, the Berghoff has a lot of rich history. I went while it was decorated for Christmas and it was gorgeous. I tried the Lemon Tortellini, first time I had that dish, and now I want to learn how to make it at home. So delicious! I also enjoyed the non-alcoholic “Cozy Blanket” mocktail. I could drink that all day. I’m not always into German restaurants, but this was definitely a great find!!
Peggy Robinson We tried the guvec (baked in a clay dish) and mucver. While doner is a common dish we can find, we had never experienced these Turkish dishes. The flavors were amazing! We were so excited to dig in, I forgot to take before pictures. The hummus and pita appetizer was delicious as well. Check it out!
Crazzy Azz Carl Lesones One of my new favorite places to eat in Springfield!! What a amazing dinning experience!!!!! The Lasagna is my favorite along with the Berry salad!!!! Nice variety of awesome desserts. The owner is also the very talented chef!!! We were greeted and made to feel right at home from the time we walked thru the door. This is a very clean and welcoming establishment, it makes you feel like youve been wisked away to Italy. We will definitely be back!!!!
Maureen VanBrooker The restaurant is very clean. Breakfast all day. Great selection of menu items to choose from. They have a special in house sauce that is deliciously both savory & sweet with a kick. We were pleased with all of our meals. Two rooms, one was more for dinner or a banquet. Our waiter was very attentive and very friendly. Prices are reasonable.
