The Irish Corner Cantina - (Near Joliet, IL)

Steven Bott I cannot believe it has taken me this long to finally get here. When I lived in STL, I had a SOTS close to my home and I dined there on the regular. Even though I am thrilled to have one on the IL side of the river, its a half hour drive to enjoy. The other day I was running errands and shopping in Edwardsville. I made it a point to do it around the lunch hour, so I could enjoy an calzone. I ordered at the counter as you do and lucky for me, the cashier was patient with me. As I ordered, I kept reading the menu and changed my mind two times and finally stayed with my third choice. Having a love of jalapeños, Pancho Villa was my final choice. Pancho Villa not only gave my fresh jalapeños, it was also filled with red peppers, smoked cheddar, Mozzarella and the meat was Chorizo prepared in Smoked Chili Oil. Yum-Yum and no heartburn. For dipping or spreading on top, I was given a cup of Queso. One nice thing about SOTS, is they offer adult beverages. They have an excellent selection of local craft beers and wines to pair with your calzone. I paired mine with, Pale Ale from Schlafly. The dining room is clean and crisp. Its done in an industrial style. They have regular tables and a few hightop tables, so you can choose which one is best for you. On the tables youll find linen napkins with reusable flatware. If you can eat an entire calzone, I am impressed. For those of us who cannot, next to the soda machine is a stack of eco-friendly to-go boxes to put your leftovers in, to take home.

John Haney A little chilly inside but oh lord the food is amazing. If you like a black bean burger this is the best one Ive ever had. Its crisp and seasoned too perfection with perfectly seasoned fried potatoes. The other menus items are things you would find at a fancy or upscale restaurant and I would recommend trying what they have to offer.

Casey Medack We went here for a special holiday private party event they were hosting. Well, my first initial response when I saw where it was located was a surprise. Small stripmall in this neighborhood? Ok. This was truly an experience of dont judge a book by its cover. Immediately after arriving the hosted accommodated us when we arrived too early to our reservation. Big plus! Next were the drinks, I dont seek out rum when I go out, kinda boring and sugary, NOT HERE! The cocktails were outstanding, flavorful, and so delicious my husband and I had 4 each throughout dinner. That NEVER HAPPENS! Next the food, we had a preset meal, croquettes, soup, main, and desert. Such simple foods done very well. Btw if they ever have their version of mashed potatoes on the menu, please order them! Everything was just amazing, we are super excited to go back and get some more. Please if you can make the trip and the time to have an amazing lunch or dinner here. Chef Eric knows what he is doing!

Fred Ehrman The Indian food for lunch was really good. The Lamb Rogan Josh was the best I’ve ever had, with super tender lamb and a great sauce. Chicken tikka masala was made the good way, with the chicken cooked in a tandoori oven. And there were several other good dishes to be shared family style.The garlic naan was excellent. There was a friendly welcome from the owners and good service from the waiter and servers. And of course, I had to finish the meal with a great bourbon. We always enjoy our visit.

Ketan Patel Very big restaurant with many tables. Upscale place with a lot of entrees and beverage options on the menu. Service was really good and attentive with numerous waiters serving our table. We were a party of about 15 people and had reservations for a Wednesday evening dinner. Ordered the sea bass for the main meal which was really good and well presented. Had a pretty big piece of tiramisu cake for dessert with an espresso martini. I would give this place a 5-star rating for the espresso martini alone since it was that good.

Krietemeyer Chase (MustangEd1ts) I went into Bella Milano for the 3rd time today, and just like the last two times, the experience was fantastic. My server Kyle was fantastic! He was training a girl named Maya, however she held her own and was absolutely fantastic as well! The Ceasar Salad & Lasagna was out of this world! Exceptional Job to both Kyle and Maya, they were extremely kind, well mannered, and busting their butt making sure we had everything we needed in a quick and timely fashion! WELL DONE BELLA MILANO! If I could give you more than 5/5 I would!
