1 /5 JJ Mac: What a disappointment! We had planned and reserved a wonderful birthday dinner with family, only to end up waiting two hours for our meals. There was a party of 45 being served, but the rest of the dining room was left completely unaware of the situation or the reason for the delay. A simple heads-up to each table BEFORE ordering would have been the appropriate and courteous approach.
Our server was kind and did her best, but she was clearly frustrated—especially after sharing that the owner was in the restaurant DINING during all of this. Unfortunately, half of my family had to leave due to the unexpected long delay. After waiting an additional thirty minutes and repeatedly trying to get our server’s attention through another staff member, and trying to flag her down , we ultimately gave up.
My husband left $100 on the table to cover the drinks and a tip, more than enough. As we exited, he—being a restaurant owner for 35 years—turned toward the patio and waved goodbye, signaling that he will never return. It takes quite a lot for him to feel that way.
This experience fell far below the standards we expect from any dining establishment.
