pamela Murphy Best Lemon meringue pie anywhere! The vegetable soup is homemade and delicious. We also had the breakfast plate. And the portions were enormous. Best of all, the Owner and Staff are friendly and kind. Youll feel right at home here at Chestnut Inn.

Allie Wilder Edit: We came back on 11/24/19 and had amazing service. The food came out extremely fast and was hot and delicious. I previously rated this a 4 but will now change that to a 5. Original: This restaurant just opened so we had to wait to be seated as all the tables were full. The host was friendly and our waitress was observant of our needs. A little unorganized at the moment, but it is a new venue for Taylorville. All around it was a good experience.

Jeff Claude Dont mind the negative publicity. The woman complaining is "STUPID". Youll have to excuse her stupidity. The pizza is great. The prices are great and a fair deal. When you request pan pizza. I am afraid to say that you will get crust, no wait , if course its a lot of crust. Its a pan pizza. I want you to take a moment and think about that statement. .....any thought. Well, it doesnt matter. I prefer my pizza at this place and not at pizza hut. Get it when its ready. How can one say that its horrible. Seriously. Like you can make a better pizza. When you got a threatening customer that will say " I will not come back". Thats the greatest moment in my entire life. You know how long any person has waited to hear that from some unworthy customer. Like close to never or not at all. It takes nerves for someone to actually stand up for what they believe. Not that person. That person gets a dumb dumb award for having a choice in his/her life and chose to purchase their product and quick to criticize. I bet that is the same person who eats the same pizza at other little Caesar pizzas. I also bet that person likes "frozen" pizza. Hmmmm cardboard. Gross.

Juliette Morgan This is our second time at the Old 50s Cafe, and both times the food has been great, service has been awesome, and the atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable. This time we got a French Dip, and a Corned Beef Hash skillet. Both were delicious! We also had a bowl of Homemade chicken and dumpling soup...so good! The husband loves it because he can get a great breakfast all day! I would highly suggest stopping here if youre hungry, and need something quick, delicious and hearty!

Denise 100% recommend! Found this place on a Google search when traveling and it did not disappoint. We ordered breakfast with coffee. My husband had the breakfast platter with fresh brewed coffee and I ordered the omelet with a white chocolate latte. Food was very fresh and tasted fantastic. The pastries looked delicious but we were too full to try one. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.
