EL PATIO MEXICAN RESTAURANT BAR & GRILL -Food CA (Near New Roads)

Zach Watkins Full disclosure: this review was a 4/5 until I saw that Captain America watches you go to the bathroom. That bumps it up. I had a Burger, medium rare, with an egg sunny side up, cheese and bacon and a loaded baked potato. My wife had BBQ shrimp with a fried grits ball. The burger was very good, if messy thanks to the egg (which isnt a complaint). Baked potato was good, but even though it was hot, it didnt melt the cheese very well; some types of cheese dont melt super easy. The shrimp were a little plain, which implies most of the flavor comes from the BBQ sauce, which was good but very fishy. The fried grits were delicious. As an appetizer, we had cheese and bacon fries with sour cream and a side of ranch. While they look a little plain, they are actually delicious also; the cheese sauce was very good (it had dripped to the bottom of the fry pile). Overall a nice hybrid casual restaurant with a nice taste; the decor was tasteful, but the staff were comfortable in T-shirts and jeans. And, most importantly of all, Captain America watch you potty.

Lisa Brassard Gur was our server and was hands down awesome. He greeted us within a minute or so of us sitting down, got us a water along our drink order. He recommended the crab cakes topped with crawfish tails. That could have been my meal by itself. I highly recommend it. We shared the soup platter and loved everyone of them. The red beans and rice were the best I’ve ever had. We were both full but couldn’t resist ordering the bread pudding. The music was even good. We will definitely be back every time we visit NOLA.

Brianna Brinkerhoff I really enjoyed my experience here, my server, Johnny, was very quick and very polite. I got my chicken fajita in almost 5 minutes after I ordered it! The free chips and salsa is to die for. Johnny anticipated my every need and refilled my drink without me asking, got me a lid for it to take home, and got me a nice big box to take some chips home with me with my leftovers. A great dining experience, even if your alone like me!!

Scarbrough Jr David (DāDā) Our first time dining here and we loved it. Service was great and didn’t have to wait very long for our food. The entire staff was friendly. The indoor dining area was roomy and inviting. Great BBQ for sure. The potato salad was phenomenal.

Dionicio Clean place with friendly employees. Price is fair, and the portions are large. The food and drinks came out quick and hot! The wait staff checked on us timely and were efficient when requests were made. The location accommodated all 20 of us easily. Theres probably seating for about 100 people comfortably, not including the bar seating. The restrooms were clean. Well be back!
