Hollis Seafood Buffet - (Near Spearsville, LA)

5 /5 Judi Boyd: Wow! A diamond in the middle of nowhere. A great selection of seafood and everything I ate appeared to be homemade! Boudin balls were delicious and some of the best turnip greens Ive ever eaten. The dessert bar had so many good things to offer but no room to eat but a bite after the huge meal offerings. On Thursdays the cost is $20 but on Friday and Saturday it is $26.50 and worth every penny! Made for a fantastic destination adventure.

1 /5 aisha hill: We planned a 90th birthday party for my grandmother and reserved a room for 25 people. When we arrived, the room wasn’t reserved, and the staff claimed it was a “miscommunication.” We were told we had 1–1.5 hours, but less than an hour into our meal, we were asked to leave—even though we had not finished eating. While paying, one family member was rudely asked if they were “sure they were with the Barnes family” because of “how people were looking.” That was unprofessional and offensive. Two guests who arrived later were told they couldn’t sit with us because “our time was almost up,” even though we were not in a private area. Another large African American group was treated the same way. We paid full price but were rushed, disrespected, and made to feel unwelcome. This was supposed to be a celebration, but instead it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. I would not recommend Hollis Seafood for large groups or special occasions.

2 /5 Brittney Davis: My husband and I have eaten here several times, but tonight was a disappointment. The food wasnt near as good or as wide a variety than our previous visits. In addition to that, the lady that was working our section of the dining room only stopped to talk to people she seemed to know. The entire time we were there she never even stopped at our table or acknowledged us at all. I wasnt going to post this review so publicly, but apparently they dont answer the phone after a certain time either. Very disappointing to have such a bad experience when driving over an hour for dinner. Not sure well ever go back.
