5 /5 Marty terrebonne: While we did encounter a few small issues, most felt like issues that will be resolved as the workers gain a bit more experience. We do plan to go back to try other menu items. We also love that Thibodaux as a new sushi /ramen / hibachi restaurant and truly want this establishment to do well.
Unfortunately there was a language barrier with the young waiter we initially received which caused some issues with our order being put in and the timing in which the meals were brought out.
Namely the sushi ordered for the table was delayed and brought to the table almost at the same time as the entrees.
The waiter didnt appear to know or understand that we were asking for sweetener for our unsweetened tea. The waiter brought us a bottle of Ramune instead of sweetener at one point which we accepted since I hadnt had Ramune in 15+ years, but we still asked the waiter for sweetener when he walked back over to us. Eventually the waiter asked someone else what we were asking for and we got a few pink packets of sweetener. We would love for the restaurant to have stevia the next time we go to the restaurant. I should state that the waiter was trying to be as helpful as he could despite us not being able to communicate very well. He followed up with our table a few times both before and after received our food. None of us were upset with him but we were also relieved when the waitress took over for the waiter.
I ended up receiving the wrong roll, again language barrier, but accepted the roll I received since I didnt feel I would have enough time to wait for another roll.
The tonkotsu ramen was good and it came out very hot; however, I would have loved the ramen a lot more if the pork would have been cut a bit thinner and or if it would have been torched to render some of the fat from the pork since the pork was very fatty. The ramen had a very generous amount of tender pork.
