We were recommended New Orleans Creole Cookery by our tour guide earlier in the day, but the experience was extremely disappointing.
My grandmother asked our server whether the Shrimp Creole was spicy. Everyone handles spice differently, and she was assured it would be mild. Unfortunately, it was so spicy she could only eat the shrimp before giving up. By the time our waiter returned, I mentioned the issue, and he brought over a manager. We explained the situation, expecting at least a discount or some gesture of goodwill since the dish was barely touched — but nothing was done.
The entire experience cost us around $80 for two people, and once we raised the issue, the waiter’s attitude noticeably changed — he became distant and impolite. On our way out, we brought it up again with the manager, who was dismissive and only offered a free dessert after the fact.
As for my meal, the jambalaya was flavorful but nearly identical in appearance to my grandmother’s dish — just minus the shrimp and plus a few green beans.
Overall, the service, attitude, and lack of accountability ruined what could have been a nice meal. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Save your money and dine somewhere that values its customers.
