3 /5 Kaitlyn McDaniel: Food was okay overall, but our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, which really made the visit enjoyable. The bar area had a great atmosphere, so we expected the restaurant side to feel similar. It was nice and clean—just a very different vibe than what you experience when you walk in from the bar.
My husband ordered the Beef Au Jus sandwich and said it was so good and absolutely worth the price. Even the small portion was generous, and they didn’t hold back on the fries. The fries themselves tasted like Ore-Ida frozen fries you could buy at the grocery store, but the portion size was great.
I ordered the Cajun burger and would rate it a 4/10. It was slightly overcooked. I’d be willing to give it another try in case it was just an off day - the bun was fantastic, though. The sugar cane sauce was the part that threw me off. I expected sweet, but the unexpected hint of horseradish wasn’t my favorite.
I also wasn’t a fan of the pork rinds on my salad in place of croutons. I may have overlooked that on the menu, so it caught me by surprise.
Overall, the service was wonderful, the restaurant was clean, and there were definitely some highlights. With a few small tweaks, I think this place could easily become a spot we really enjoy. We’d be willing to give it another try!
