The Red Maple Restaurant - (Near Gretna, LA)

3 /5 0504 Traveller: We were looking for a special place to celebrate a birthday and online reviews had said The Red Maple was good so we made a reservation. Service overall was not good. Literally the day before we got a message saying that the restaurant only had two seating options available as there were other tables or we could cancel; given the late notice we chose the wine rooms. While private, it was also secluded so if we needed anything we would have to go and get the staff since there were infrequent checkups. To add insult to injury, the food was not that great. We had the spinach casserole to start followed by the catfish, shrimp and hamburger. while portion size was decent, flavor and taste quality were lacking. overall poor service and average to below average food made this a disappointing experience

5 /5 Sean Herlihy: Phenomenal all around! Servers were fantastic, attentive, and very personable. The spinach casserole appetizer was a great start. Our 4 year old loved the kids Catfish and fries. My wife had the Catfish Pecan and I had the Fig Glazed Roasted Duck, both paired with Sweet Potato Souffle. 10/10 for everything we ate and really a place to return to on future nights out!

5 /5 Rayne: We were going to another restaurant down the block, but they didnt have parking, which the Red Maple does have across the street. It was an amazing find. The restaurant itself is quite unique as it is what appears to be a large converted residence. It is beautiful and comfortable inside. There are several dining areas and a dimly lit swanky bar area. They take walk-ins and reservations. There is no dress policy, but the clientele does dress nicely. Our server Maria was wonderful! The food was very good. This was a wonderful find for us. If youre in the neighborhood or surrounding area, go get yourself a wonderful and relaxing meal.
