Uncle Henrys Smokehouse BBQ - (Near Benton, LA)

3 /5 Samuel Patton: I had high hopes for this place but it didnt live up to my expectations. Granted Im from Texas, and I smoke meat at home so my BBQ expectations are higher than most. I ordered the 2 Meat Plate with Brisket & Smoked Chicken Breast. The smoked chicken breast was not on the menu but the lady at the counter recommended it. The brisket was a bit dry. If you know about smoking brisket, you know its the fat that counts. What gives brisket its flavor is the scrumptious rendered fat. That fat was trimmed off this brisket. So it didnt have a strong smoke flavor and it didnt have the fat. The brisket wasnt super tender but neither was it tough. It was just kinda average. The smoked chicken was ok not something I would crave. It was again, a little dry but very tender. I found myself drinking water with both meats to get them down. The beans and potato salad were just average fare as well. Ok but not anything that would make it to my Foodie list. I would probably go back and try a few more things but my first experience left me wanting a bit more.

1 /5 Maria Account Executive: I hate to do this but there was GREEN SLIME on the ice dispenser. The food was VERY good. The brisket sandwich was very good and the house made BBQ sauce was probably the best I have ever had. I would have never eaten here though had I seen the slime first. I didnt make my first drink. As I was leaving I got my own refill and saw it. Which is sad because the staff was so nice and even gave me free samples of their beans and potato salad. There was a weird painting on the wall that made me chuckle. If it wasnt for the slime I would give this place a solid 4 stars

1 /5 Elizabeth Hammett: My family and I have been coming to Uncle Henrys for a while now. Today will be my last day. The girl at the window was not pleasant and she over charged me. I asked for 2 individual sides at $2.29 a piece, she charges me for a pint at $5.99. It would different if I received a pint but I received 2 individual sides. Im always nice and I leave a tip. But the quality has gone down along with their customer service. I will be taking my business else where!
