ED Lewis Nice cozy place I found on Google close to our hotel for the jambalaya. I also ordered fried green tomatoes that came with roulade sauce… fie. It went perfectly with my cup of jambalaya which was the perfect portion. My husband’s wings were good and he ordered the special sauce on the side. Service was excellent and our water glasses stayed full. We were also able to catch the highlights of the IU game with the big screen television where we had a perfect unobstructed view.

Swim Doc We loved our meal and the amazing service by Nandi! Everyone was very attentive and kind. Nandi gave us wonderful recommendations and clearly knew the menu well. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and good portions. We had the bread pudding pancakes which were like a mix between French toast and pancakes and were very indulgent. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and the hot honey fried chicken was the perfect balance of heat and sweet. The fried green tomatoes were also great! Would highly recommend!

Kat Sykes This was a good choice for a meal. Hubby had oysters and I stuck with a burger because Im not adventurous! Oysters were very good and the burger was outstanding. We also had the bread pudding which was also top notch. Fairly busy but with just 2 we got seated immediately. Good service in a very busy, noisy place!

Evan Zhang The daily happy hour did not let us down! The oysters were fresh, and we loved the mussels too - they were fresh and flavorful. We almost wanted to take home the leftover broth. Drinks are good too and they were at half price!

Nikki Kitko Fiance and I came here for a late lunch after exploring City Park, and absolutely loved our experience here! Our Lyft dropped us off, and this place looked PACKED! I was nervous that wed be waiting awhile, as some parties were seated on benches out front, so we walked in to assess what the wait time might be. To our surprise, there were a few seats open at the bar, so we squeezed in and started with some strong margaritas! Probably one of the best during our NOLA trip! We also had the charbroiled oysters which were on their happy hour specials so that was nice! They were soooo delicious!!! We both chose the Redfish which was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked! The summer squash it came with was also tasty! Despite them being slammed with guests (always a good indicator that the food is gonna be good!!!) we still had wonderful service. Happy we came here!!!

Tad Howard This place has a wonderful selection of locally inspired offerings! Lots of them are gluten free as well. One of my family members suffers from Celiac so it was a blessing to have GF beignets from here. The gumbo tacos are a must. We also had pork tacos, gator bites, duck bombs (so good), chicken & waffles and more. Plenty of outdoor seating and right across from Jackson Park. John gave us excellent service and took great care of us. Shout out to you, John! Karen, our walking tour guide, recommended this place and she’s right (as usual). Try this place, especially if you have Celiac.

Brittany Hill I live 9 hours away let me start there. My first time visiting the food was amazing. My husband said it was the best food he ever had. Long story short I decided to come back 2 years later. I bought my mom and sister and they absolutely did not disappoint! Our waitress Gabby was amazing. She was extremely attentive. She explained her favorites and top choices of other guests. This will always be my recommendation when I come or telling other people.

Aubrey Smalls The French Market Restaurant is wonderful little hometown place to have lunch or dinner. The service was a little slow, but once seated they were very attentive and timely bringing out our order. The atmosphere reminds me of a small southern eateries with big mama in the kitchen and the food will have you asking for more. I had the seafood gumbo and the shrimp poboy sandwich. The gumbo was nicely seasoned, could have been a little thicker and richer, but the poboy was just right with that special mayonnaise to go with it. The price was, in a word, family friendly. When you get to New Orleans enjoy the food, shops, museums, and all that city has to offer.

Lori Lynn Honestly, one of the best restaurants in New Orleans! Where to begin…our waitress Jordan was so attentive and nice, the food…I had the New Orleans Shrimp & Grits, so creamy & delicious. Also had a crab cake for an appetizer, best I’ve ever had! My husband had the Creole pasta, it was a big hit! The bread pudding for dessert was so scrumptious! Definitely a 5-star restaurant for us! Oh and it’s dog friendly, a must for us!

Tiffany Harris We truly enjoyed ourselves, we went to Daisy Mae as a part of my birthday trip. Muhammad our server was amazing, customer service is everything to me and he was exceptional. He was attractive, he made sure we had everything we needed, and anything we didn’t like he exchanged it for us. I can’t wait to return here the next time I’m in New Orleans. Thank you Muhammad for making our experience amazing.

LaMont Vernon Pierre Maspero’s – A True New Orleans Treasure Since 1788 Dining at Pierre Maspero’s is like stepping back in time while savoring the authentic flavors that make New Orleans cuisine legendary. As one of the city’s oldest restaurants, this historic gem offers not only incredible food but also an atmosphere rich with charm and Southern hospitality. Our meal reflected the very essence of traditional New Orleans gourmet. The Blackened Redfish, made with fresh Louisiana red drum and seasoned to perfection with Cajun spices, was simply outstanding. Served with French fries, flavorful jambalaya, and topped with jumbo lump crabmeat, it was a dish that beautifully balanced spice, texture, and local flair. The Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta was equally satisfying—tender chicken over perfectly cooked fettuccine tossed in a creamy, decadent Alfredo sauce that added a comforting richness to the meal. The Crescent City Sampler offered the best of New Orleans classics in one plate, featuring Cajun jambalaya, red beans and rice, and chicken & andouille gumbo—each bite full of authenticity and bold Creole flavor. The staff truly elevated the experience. They were courteous, attentive, and delightfully funny, adding a personal touch that made our evening even more enjoyable. The lively atmosphere—with a perfect mix of history, laughter, and Louisiana charm—made it easy to see why Pierre Maspero’s continues to be a favorite among locals and visitors alike. If you’re visiting New Orleans, Pierre Maspero’s is an absolute must. It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience steeped in history, heart, and unforgettable flavor.
