Kissy Blanks This place is awesome. Some of the best soul food youve ever had. So many choices available, from fried pork chops, gravied pork chops, oxtails, dressing, rice and gravy, too much to mention lol. You totally need a nap when leaving this place or save the rest for dinner.

3.Louisiana Cajun Soul Cafe

Andy Sant First time eating here, was given a sample of the deboned chicken to try. It was great. Ordered the deboned chicken and sausage plate with BBQ beans and cole slaw. Good size portions of food and all of it was excellent. I live in Lafayette, LA so I’m skeptical of Cajun Food in north LA. This was good, this restaurant would do well in Lafayette.

Courtney Arant Pleasant find today. First visit and we enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again. The Cajan is an Alligator and Pork dog. Great flavor happening on this plate. The Chicago was a good surprise with that tomato. The Bacon Cheddar Fries were hot and good. Restaurant was clean and had an industrial vibe. Comfortable booths that allowed not to be surrounded by other people. Highly recommend you to give this place a try. There is something for everyone on the menu not just dogs.

Andrea Brentano First time in and folks at the tables waiting, gave suggestions on what to order. We ended up with Memphis Blues and a Grilled Chicken. GINORMOUS! Burgers can definitely feed 2 or a very hungry teen. The buns are made fresh daily and all I can say is "can I get a dozen to go, please?" This will be our go-to for burger cravings.

8.River & Rye

Address: 104 US-71, Shreveport, LA 71101

Emily I want to mention that they had a limited menu when we went because the hotel itself was sold out. They had a cheerleading competition and Mardi Gras parades locally. What Im assuming is that they wanted to limit the menu to keep timeliness for both the staff and those attending the events. It appeared to work out across the board. The food came out quick and delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive (funny, too). We ordered the wings, a turkey club, and the loaded fries. The wings were some of the best weve had. They werent gummy, werent hard. Perfect texture with a little crunch and fell off the bone. Not too saucy. The fries were a 10/10. They werent stingy with the toppings, but they also didnt do too much. The side of sour cream was something I didnt know I needed until I tried it. The turkey club was my favorite thing. It had thick sliced turkey that wasnt slime-y or too moist. It was so good. Sometimes, I find clubs to be soggy, and that didnt happen with this one. Bacon was perfect, and bread was perfectly toasted. Overall, it was a great meal. Will be returning when were back in the area.

9.Flames Mediterranean Restaurant

Address: 436 Ashley Ridge Blvd, Shreveport, LA 71106

(492) user ratings total:

Elizabeth Opiela My husband had eye surgery across the street, and we love mediterranean food so we thought we would give it a try. What a jewel! We were there as they opened on a weekday, so there was no waiting for a table. The building and decor are so tastefully done, it feels as though we are at a much more expensive restaurant. Our young waitress was helpful and pleasant. We had researched the menu previously and my husband knew he wanted the shrimp and salmon. I chose the chicken kabobs from the lunch menu. We also got the warm eggplant appetizer and added a Greek salad. The price was reasonable and we took some home. And thats amazing since everything was so delicious! The owner came by and promised he had something to make my husbands eye feel better. Dessert always helps! We ended up having a long, delightful chat with him. Definitely worth a drive to Shreveport!

Jackson Johnson Fantastic experience! Everything was perfect down to the finest detail. The cocktails are very unique and the food is fresh and delicious. The menu is unlike any other I’ve seen; they are dated so they rotate items and receive fresh and local products daily and to make it more special, they are sealed with a custom wax emblem of a heron. This place is one of Shreveport’s finest hidden gems and I’d highly recommend them especially for a date night or special occasion.

14.Fat Calf Brasserie

Address: 3030 Creswell Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104

Megan Lowe First visit last night. Amazing cocktails, amazing focaccia appetizer, and amazing entrees. I had the Ember Carrots (an appetizer) and the Roasted Tomato Soup (a special), and they were {{chefs kiss}}. The Pecan Custard Tart was good but would be better served warm. We sat inside at the bar and really appreciated the friendly, responsive professionalism of the bartenders Connor and Cat (hope I spelled those correctly). All the staff were friendly and professional, attentive and responsive. The building and its available dining space are small. This contributes positively to the cozy ambiance, but it is also why one MUST make a reservation. This is not the kind of place that can take walk-ins. Theres not enough convenient parking. Street parking is available but not exactly friendly. I recognize thats limitation of the property and the area so its not really a criticism - more an observation. While this is not an issue for me, it is worth noting that the restaurant is not super accessible-friendly. Limited convenient parking, narrow walking spaces within the building itself, not-exactly-convenient toilet access if you choose to sit on the outside patio - not exactly wheelchair or mobility-aid friendly. That critique notwithstanding, our experience otherwise was super positive. We plan to return, and we look forward to our next visit!

15.The Magnolia Pit

Address: 729 Jordan St, Shreveport, LA 71101

Adam Lemons The people who gave the 2 star reviews.. they seem to be a tad too picky like my kids. The atmosphere is great, the food is 9.5 out of 10, and I was served quickly with a smile. The quantity of the portions was awesome for the price, especially in this economy. So if your reading this if you are looking for a place to eat when searching barbeque like inside, try this place. Their collard greens are fire and their meat fantastic.
