La Pecora Nera - Farmington
Mark Thomas I was sitting at a nearby brewery when I noticed a familiar pain in my lower torso. I was hungry.
So, I asked the staff if they had food. No. But, they had menus from nearby restaurants. The first one I grabbed was for La Pecora Nera. I am so glad I did.
I havent had a great muffuletta since New Orleans, pre-Katrina. Been a minute.
Here. I can confidently state: The Muffuletta rocks!
The fact that I walked in 5 minutes before closing made no difference to the staff. I was out of there 4 minutes later with a huge, delicious, messy, warm, wonderful muffuletta.
Arguably, for me, outside of an authentic Cuban sandwich, there is nothing humankind has made to go between two pieces of bread that is better than an authentic muffuletta. It is a truly magnificent construction and the ones they make here belong in the pantheon of the greats. I am not worthy, but I am exceedingly thankful. Its 45 minutes from home on a good day but,
I. Will. Be. Back.
