Captain Jays Fish & Chicken - (Near Pontiac, MI)

A.J. Petix I literally couldn’t imagine complaining about any part of my experience on a Saturday at lunchtime. The outdoor space is dog friendly and the front of house service was incredibly hospitable. The pizza is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like you expect and the truffle fries are so dang tasty without tasting like nothing but garlic. Beer is an okay price, but the tech required to let you tap your wrist on a logo and then get charged per-oz isn’t free, so I get it. It’s a cool vibe inside and out. If you’ve been to Ferndale Project you’ll immediately recognize the inside vibes and the patio immediately feels like Founders Brewing in GR, which makes sense since this used to be the Founders Detroit space. I love it here and will absolutely return!

Candice Wu This was SO SO SO SO good and I am super picky about Thai food. Got the curry pad Thai and it was hot, delicious, not too sweet, perfectly spicy to what I asked for and noodles were Al Dente:) the flavor was wonderful. Friend got tom yum noodle and that was delightfully delicious and light. I’m so happy I found this place and will come again and again now that I know it’s here.

Amanda Balcazar This was FANTASTIC! It’s the 2nd time we’ve ordered sushi from Asahi. Both times everything was absolutely delicious! They are very friendly…both on the phone, and in-person, I cannot recommend enough! We also got the fried rice and spring rolls for my daughter. She loved it!

Aaron Woods Wonderful food! The chicken was excellent. The hummus tasted Delicious. And the lentil soup is not something you can simply use a spoon for... Its so good! I had to pick up the bowl and shovel it in. Excellent.

Nicole Hopkins Loved this little place! Great food and great service. We loved everything we ordered. Also their ginger salad was great and much bigger than other places! The Northline roll was soo good!

PTR Who is Norm? I kept looking for Norm the owner——but I met the owner-cook, Elise, and found her so easy and enjoyable to talk with. I was sitting at the bar, so I could watch her in the back doing her thing. I enjoyed the way the staff engaged with each other, and the patrons; you could tell they loved doing what they do. This is a classy diner, clothed napkins, flowers on the table and good food.
