larry Hollinger As a native Louisiana boy, Im always skeptical when places try to recreate the New Orleans vibe and cuisine—most end up feeling touristy and miss the mark. But this spot? Not even close. The ingredients taste like they were flown in straight from the Big Easy, and you can feel generations of soul in every bite. We had the Étouffée, Jambalaya, and Gumbo Yaya—all absolutely delicious. And hey, I didn’t have to cook them myself, so that’s always a win. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere genuinely made me feel like I’d been teleported home. If youre looking to experience Louisiana without the long drive, I highly recommend this place. My only minor critique: the Étouffée sauce had a touch too much flour, which made it slightly grainy, and the rice was a bit overcooked. But those are small things when the flavors are this on point.

Lindsay Gottschalk SheWolf has been a highly anticipated place on my downtown foodie list and after my first visit last night all I can do is rave about this iconic Detroit gem! I was completely mesmerized by the unique culinary transformation of the tasting menu, stellar service, and intimate, chic-modern vibe. Our table was even wiped down in between every course which completely elevated the fine dining experience. Some of the menu rotates seasonally, their house-made pasta is uniquely shaped, and you can see the chefs putting their craft together with the open window kitchen concept. The flavors and plate presentation are thoughtfully executed and the 5 course tasting gives generous samples of several menu items. An indulgence, but truly worth it for a first visit; we were full before dessert! The highlights for us were the Brussels salad and Agnolotti del pain, and you absolutely cannot leave without finishing your meal with their creamy, dreamy pistachio gelato. Every staff member was wonderful but a special thank you to our server, Cassandra, who was a delight and made our experience so memorable. She was friendly, attentive, and really helpful with the layout of the menu options. I look forward to our return and to try their new restaurant, Medusa!

FriedChicken One of the best place to eat in this area. Key thing is they bake their own bread and cakes. Make a world of difference on something simple. They also dont skim on ingredients in your main entree, worth everything that u will pay for. Service is good too. Water and coffee constantly getting refill.

Mindful BotanicaTM, LLC Food is fantastic every time! Service is very attentive. I am vegetarian and have tried all their vegetarian chicken options and am in love! I came here regularly when I lived in Westland and have moved, but still come to visit now and again because nobody has veg chicken like them! I have had their sushi and its good too. I am bummed they dont have a public bathroom; but that is minor in comparison to the awesome food!

Ellie M Came in on a Friday night and it wasn’t too busy. Was worried maybe that is a bad sign but I was wrong! The food was absolutely delicious, the bartender (not sure on his name but he has tattoos on both upper arms lol) was fun, kind and knowledgeable, and the people sitting at the bar with me were nice folks! Good place to hang out!

Mike Sulfridge Been here a few times but had an experience on Monday 10/20 that deserves a review. 1st, I had a sushi roll as an app and as always it was fresh and very good. For an entree I got the Prime Rib Po boy. It was very good as all the things I have gotten here before. I wasnt sure what beer to get and Lyz and Taylor the bartenders, who are awesome and always do a great job, gave me several samples. Ended up with a Labats and was rightfully shamed a little for it, after having several craft beer samples. Now to the reason for this review. I had a small mishap with a crab cake, nothing major. I told Lyz about it, just for her information. Unbeknownst to me she informed a manager, not the reason I told her about it. James showed up and overly apologized and offered to make things right, which is not the reason why I told Lyz. The care and concern he showed over what to me was just a small thing really impressed me. Fish Bones should be proud to have people like Lyz, the manager James, and the other very good and personable bartender, Taylor, as representatives for their organization.
