State Room Restaurant - East Lansing

Rating: 4.4 /5
Laura Bobo We went for dinner last night before a show and were reminded why this is the best restaurant to do so. The experience was outstanding from start to finish. Olivia was our waitress and she was superb in so many ways, one of the best weve ever had, anywhere. The drinks from the bar were excellent. The fingerling potato appetizer was wonderful, and we both loved our entrees (salmon and the signature burger) and dessert (the chocolate torte with a scoop of Dairy Store ice cream). The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch.

Mabel Gray - Hazel Park

Jordan Huey Ive been wanting to try Mabel Gray for a long time, and my first experience did not disappoint. We tried the tasting menu to get a taste of many things on the menu. Lots of creative flavors and dishes all in a very unpretentious setting. Our cocktails were also delicious want to come back and try more. Its definitely deserving of all the praise it gets.

Cafe Zinc - Midland

Lacey Lathrop This was our first time at Cafe Zinc. The atmosphere was very nice/upscale but still cozy. The food was absolutely delicious. Their Gluten Free toast was the best I’ve had at a restaurant! Our server, “Lu”, was very knowledgeable and very friendly! He informed us that we are able to order a loaf of their GF bread for pick up, a couple days in advance. Which is great to know! Our food took a bit longer than expected but it was a busy morning. It was well worth the wait. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant and returning in the future to try other items on their menu!

Pacific Rim By Kana - Ann Arbor

Rating: 4.5 /5
Yunong Shi Pacific Rim by Kana offers a warm, polished dining experience with refined pan-Asian flavors and thoughtful service. We ordered a variety of dishes and loved every one of them. The Tuna Tartare with Taro Chips was a crisp, textural starter with a bright, clean flavor. The Unagi Terrine was a standout—served warm over sushi rice with avocado and finished with a bold, green mustard sauce. Rich, smoky, and deeply satisfying—one of the best bites of the night. For mains, both the Japanese-Style Sablefish and the Korean-Marinated Ribeye were excellent. Served over rice, they evoke donburi and bibimbap in elevated, plated form. The sablefish was silky and miso-glazed, while the ribeye was charred and tender, topped with a soft egg that brought everything together. Dessert was just as thoughtful. We had a Pistachio and Mascarpone Crêpe, and a Crème Brûlée Tasting with green tea, key lime, and ginger. The brûlées were distinct and well-balanced. Our server even added a birthday candle—unprompted and kind. Service was quietly exceptional. Our young server (possibly a student) was attentive, sincere, and never pushy. The setting is elegant without being fussy—warm lighting, natural wood tones, and subtle pan-Asian décor make it perfect for a special dinner that doesn’t need to show off. Just quality, quietly done right.

Erin Woolford 10/10 experience. We had 4 adults and 4 children (ages 1-12) for an early dinner. Meg C was the best waitress - she turned a to go soup container into a kids cup, made amazing food and drink recommendations, and stayed patient throughout the kids’ questions. The Phoquari is one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had (even as a non whisky lover). Go with a group to get bites of everything. We loved the carrots, brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, crab salad sliders, crab gnocchi, scallops, and filet. The kids demolished the chips and chicken sandwiches. Highly recommend.

Randy Babi Our goto spot for brunch. We love this place. Amazing service, prices (for the quality you get), and very creative food. Todays special was the lump crab omelette, half our table ordered it and it was delicious. Also 3 kids with us, the was no issue at all (and my daughters french toast was very good as well). You will love it!
