Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, it has quickly become my go-to spot for sushi, where every dish is a feast for the eyes before it even hits the palate. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and upscale dining, making it an ideal choice any day of the week. Now, let’s talk about the food—it was absolutely delicious! Each dish, from the sushi to the other offerings, was a delight. I found myself savoring every bite, appreciating the harmonious blend of flavors, whether it was a hint of saltiness or a splash of acidity. Every item on the menu was a treat. The service was equally impressive. The staff was warm and attentive, ensuring that my needs were met without being intrusive. I truly appreciated the engaging conversations, the cheerful smiles, and the thoughtful attention to detail. My water glass was never empty, and the staffs knowledge of the menu made my dining experience that much better. The atmosphere, wow! It is nothing short of stunning! The space is clean and beautifully designed, with lovely touches that create an inviting environment. I could easily see myself settling in with a good book, soaking in the gorgeous surroundings. Maru Sushi and Grill is a delightful experience. The open concept design features bright interiors with exposed brick, majestic wooden beams, and elegant hardwood floors. 5 /5 Ilgis Rowles: I had my after wedding dinner here with 15 guests. To start, the restaurant manager was very helpful with helping us organize the dinner (food/drink quantities, decorations, etc.) and overall was very proactive and friendly with the plans. Our server was also on top of everything, making sure our drinks were topped off and empty dishes were taken care off. All of our guests really liked the food and the atmosphere. I think this restaurant is a testament to the fact that quality food, good atmosphere, and stellar service can still come at a fair price.

5 /5 Lisa Dillman: The food at Maru was delicious and beautifully presented. We had a gorgeous soy joy signature roll, a couple of orders of nigiri (the yellowtail is phenomenal) and one of the best seaweed salads I have ever had. We didnt have any alcohol but it appeared to be a decently full bar. We love sushi and were so thrilled to find a place in Kalamazoo that didnt advertise a lot of items that hid the fish in globs of cream cheese (sort of a classic "We dont really serve very good fish in our sushi" tactic that I see a lot at some sushi joints). We will be back, Im sure, very soon.

5 /5 Floyd Nash Fix It Dad: I took my daughters here for a bit of an early birthday dinner for one of them. We had been wanting to try it and Im very glad we did. The atmosphere was nice, kind of that refurbished inner city industrial thing. The staff was excellent. Everyone was really nice and seemed to be enjoying themselves. We came at a busy time and still didnt have an excessive wait. The food was amazing. One daughter got a glazed chicken. She wasnt in the mood for sushi but the other daughter and I got a roll each and some sashimi. The rolls are huge. I didnt think I could finish mine but it was so delicious my daughter and I actually ended up ordering a 3rd to share. A little fresh salted edemame as a palate cleanser was perfect too. It wasnt cheap by any stretch of the imagination but we left feeling so good. Would highly recommend you try them out and well definitely be going back.

5 /5 Selena Protacio: Great food and wonderful ambiance. It is a bit on the pricy side but high quality sushi. They also have happy hour and some daily deals. My fave roll is the crouching tiger. My husband got the chef’s special roll and he said it was one of the best rolls he has ever had.
