County Seat Restaurant & Lounge - (Near Canton, NY)

3 /5 Valeria Escrich: Their homemade fries taste good. They dont respect how you request the doneness of the meat. The presentation of the salad wasnt the best. Dessert wasnt offered to us. Despite these, the food was good. One of the best places in the Canton area, definitely. It was a different experience compared to other restaurants in the area.

3 /5 Dustin Staires: Everything is usually always low to Mid-range quality here. I had 1 meal out of maybe 5 that stuck out as being actually good (the other times have been between mediocre, tolerable, and nearly unacceptable) which was a Pasta dish and it could have used more Shrimp. The prices are too high for what youre getting. I wont go back again. You would think that with the restaurant being right next to St. Lawrence University it would be great but its not at all. Honestly restaurant-wise for the most part Canton sucks. There are a few exceptions, Sergis is decent and so is Mirandas Cafe: A Taste of Vermont. I heard the Thai restaurant in Canton is also good. I had a better experience at 11 West thats just up the road than I did at County Seat so that could be a better option. P.S. its a little drive but Hoof & Horn in Potsdam is solid! Just please dont support this overpriced mediocrity.

5 /5 Potter Renovations: We drove down from home in Russell Ontario looking for a nice restaurant. We found it here. Staff was gracious and attentive. Kenzie was our waitress, and she was excellent. We were lucky to get to sit by the fire. This is worth the drive alone. The food was perfect, we had maple grilled chicken.

3 /5 crystal perrine: To start, the food was amazing. The portions were slightly smaller than anticipated for the price. The problem was the time it took from start to finish. We called to make a reservation, and was told we didnt need one because it was slow. We got there and were questioned if we had a reservation and then had to wait several minutes for them to confirm we indeed didnt need one. The waiter was ok. Nice but not attentive thru out the night. It took over an hour to get our food. It did not look short staffed, as we saw several employees. There were about 4 other tables, who already had there food. Thankfully the food was amazing because the experience was not.
