Claudys Kitchen - Bronx

Rating: 4.4 /5
Omari Jones Dropped in on for a quick lunch based on a Tik Tok video I saw and let’s just say Claudy’s did not disappoint. From the minute I walked in the owner Richard was welcoming, warm and personable. I consider myself a Roast Chicken connoisseur and the minute I took my first bite it was heaven! The skin was super crispy, the meat was tender, seasoned well and juicy. Paired with the fried/light Yuca fries and that infamous Peruvian green sauce - Flavor Bomb! I’ll be a regular for sure and the price was very reasonable. Claudy’s for the W!

Jon Curry This is a 5 star restaurant. Absolutely superb ingredients and immaculate orchestration of them. The short rib beef and biscuit was phenomenal. Poached egg was done perfectly with yolk that walked out of the white, rather than ran. Biscuit was brown and flaky with buttery and salty goodness. Nailed the strawberry danish real proper like with flaky and soft pastry and wholesome compote. Came back for dinner a few days later and the scallops were delicious with the perfect juicy and soft (but not raw) texture. It had a basil and herbed beats that I could eat—and I don’t eat beats. Ricotta cnocchi was so damn smooth it slid down the gullet with ease; no heavy chewing or rich resistance. Haven’t even had the pork chop I ordered yet but suspect it will be on point. Regardless, the delivery of all the above warrants a 5 star rating. Highly recommend. Mad props to the chef and cooks.

Wellingtons - Albany

Adam Schilling I had the Faroe Island Salmon—my second time this week because the first was so good—and it was outstanding. I ordered it medium with a light, flaky Maillard crisp, and the chef nailed it. The dish is incredibly well-balanced: quinoa, perfectly cooked artichoke hearts with the spiny bits thoughtfully removed, fresh greens, and a light but flavorful lemon-butter sauce. If you’re a salmon lover like me, Wellington’s should be an Albany must-visit. A+

Dr. Michelle Laura Flood We stopped at The Outpost for a family lunch, and we say, “Move over Dino BBQ - there’s a new BBQ king in town!” The brisket was incredible, and we also highly recommend the poblano grits. Our toddler loved everything too.

Marina Cafe Restaurant & Tiki Bar - Staten Island

Rating: 4.3 /5
Patricia Mosca This was my first visit to the marina several weeks ago and I was very impressed. The floor to ceiling windows offer an incredible view of the marina from everywhere in the restaurant and gives the place a feeling of serenity. Some of the food I tried would rival some of the best Manhattan steakhouse and seafood restaurants. The food was perfectly prepared and plated beautifully The seafood tower as an appetizer was very impressive with right off the boat fresh tasting clams, oysters, very large shrimp and lobster. The tuna tartare had a very unique and delicious sauce and was mounded on an absolutely delicious fried disk. My other two stand out appetizers were the seafood salad and, a surprise, what they call an Italian eggroll With really delicious Italian red sauce. If you are a lobster bisque lover this lobster bisque was to die for. The Châteaubriand was cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare with house made barbecue sauce and Demi glace which were both excellent with a roasted garlic bulb creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The very fresh angry red snapper came on top of broccoli rabe and was topped with very fresh premium crab meat. The best part of this dish for me was the ring of gnocchi around the fish that were like little pillows of softness. The variety of desserts are homemade and all were delicious. If you happen to be there on a nice day and the tiki bar is still open, it is definitely worth sitting out there for a cocktail and a dessert and coffee. I can’t wait to go back there in several weeks for my birthday.

Arman Habib Le Crocodile was fantastic. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. The menu is unique. I tried certain dishes I’ve never had before like steak tartare & mushroom pate. Both were incredible. Entree I got the bistro steak frites, it was good not great but tried the roast chicken from my friend it was delicious. My other friends got the duck breast and really liked it. The sticky banana date pudding was so good didn’t last more than 30 seconds on our table hahah. Will definitely be returning to this spot! Great place for a date or dinner with friends
