BRIX - brick oven pub - Cortland

Maria Arkel This place is super cool! I loved the ambience , the architecture and the delicious food . Their pizza is genuine and wood fire baked , the chicken wings were simply awesome, and I really appreciated that the chips were actually cut and cooked by the chef ( lots of places just open a box ) staff was very friendly . Location is convenient in Cortland downtown. Definitely recommended !

River Bistro - Binghamton

Sean Skywalker Best kept secret in Binghamton. I am hoping my review helps to change that. I think most of their issue is they are inside the DoubleTree hotel which prevents your average local from coming upon the place to eat. They seem to only draw in hotel patrons to eat. Bonus to this set back is youll never have to worry about parking while still eating down town. Great atmosphere and look. You can relax at the bar or have a traditional sit down meal. Even though it is a nicer place, because it is in the hotel and accept all comers and goers, there is no specific dress code. This means you can dress up for a nice night out, or down for comfort and neither will put you out of place. They had a live musician there last night which was a nice element. Food and service was top notch. Alisha was our server. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. You can see what we ate in the pictures below. The crayfish mac and cheese and fried string beans were my favorite, but it was all delicious. My only issues were the chairs, but that will only affect large people like myself, and the creme brulee, but that is a preference thing that wont bother many people. So the chairs you can see on the picture has the metal legs come up above the seat so if your base is any wider than the seat by even a little they dig into you. The creme brulee had a coffee like taste which some people might like the unique take on the classic dish, but I am one of the rare people on Earth who hate coffee.

The Whiskey Coop - Sackets Harbor

Jesse Reinhold Was checking out the local area and this place caught my eye. It was recommended to me and now I understand why. They were having $5 pint beers which include all your specialty beers which is unheard of and they were doing 50% off appetizers (except the pork belly which is market price up here). I had the clouds in the sky and the 1812 beers which were both excellent, flavorful and not overly hoppy. I also had the duck wings with the buffalo maple sauce which was outstanding! They had a wonderful fry on the duck wings and the sauce was a perfect blend (im not the biggest buffalo sauce guy). They do not have a view of the water, so be aware, there is another resturant next to them that blocks that view. They did have Coyote and Crow come play on the patio which was a refreshing folk acoustic, folk punk type style. Couldnt find them on Spotify but hopefully they have music out there somewhere. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by the assistant manager Elizabeth who was extremely helpful and caring. Good luck when you help to open the second location in Watertown!

Elbow Room - Elmira

Rating: 4.5 /5
Bill Jones Classic Elmira wing place thats a must stop whenever I make it back to my hometown. Wings are classic. Burgers perfect. Fried food heaven. They get backed up quick during dinner service, but be patient its worth it and drinks are more than reasonable. A lot of regulars, but newcomers are welcome with "open arms."

Countryside Kitchen - Mahopac

Mark Scarfi Love the small, open kitchen ambiance of this restaurant. Good breakfast and lunch menu. Long wait on the weekends but worth checking out. The service was amazing! Prices are reasonable.

Muju - Utica

Leo Dygert Momos are delicious, esp the butter chicken momos. Fried momos are crispy & not greasy. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are large. You can adjust the spice level, too. So glad we found a place to get good dumplings in Utica area.
