Diane M Maiella is a beautiful restaurant, along the water, with great service and delicious Italian food. The eggplant appetizer (pictured) is a must. Have been here several times and never had a bad meal. Their pastas and pizzas are all amazing, hard to pick a favorite. Will definitely be back soon.

Angelinas Restaurant - Staten Island

Rating: 4.4 /5
Irene Conwell The food and menu are exceptional as are the wait staff and Angelina herself. A few of us gathered for a grammar school reunion (62 years after graduation) and we all loved it. I found everyone kind and considerate and very accommodating. Sitting at the bar, something I don’t care to do, waiting for my friends the Maitre D approached me and asked if I’d be more comfortable sitting at a high top table. I definitely was! We chatted until a friend came in. When our fellow classmates arrived we were led to a table and our server , Ita I believe she said her name was, was very accommodating and helpful. The food was fantastic, definitely not your run of the mill Italian food. It is an inspired menu. I had a saffron risotto with squid ink breadcrumbs and langoustines. It’s was perfectly cooked and unbelievable. During our dinner Angelina came over to our table introducing herself and asking our names than shaking our hands. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating there again.

Yon Burke Very inviting and cozy place. Great whiskey bar and rustic atmosphere. Food was quite diverse with a mixture of American, Korean, and Italian items. French onion soup was delicious. We had the pork belly buns appetizer which was fantastic. Very festive and with happy patrons.

Kathy D Great food and service in a very casual but eclectic setting. There were a couple misses for us but overall absolutely delicious fresh food and we will definitely return. Mozz and bread is a large portion but absolutely worth trying. Cheese was soft and flavorful and bread was thick and crusty. Little gem salad as pretty to look at as it was to eat. Grilled artichoke, I probably could have eaten 5. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Bagna Cauda was a miss for us. The anchovy dip was overpowering and I think I just didn’t understand the dish. We tried the agnolotti based on our server’s recommendation and so glad we did. Soft creamy pillows of deliciousness. Spaghetti also delicious, pasta was al dente with texture from the nuts. Escarole was another recommended dish and it was very good and a nice side. The lamb steak was our other miss. It was cooked well but if I didn’t know I was eating lamb I would have thought it was a bland steak. It had no gamey lamb flavor. We didn’t know but will try next time that there is an off the menu steak and potato dish you can order. It looked and smelled amazing. This restaurant serves unpretentious delicious food, can’t wait to return and try more options.

West End Cafe - Carle Place

Judy McInturf We enjoyed a lovely dinner at West End Cafe. We began with steamed mussels in a tarragon-infused white wine-garlic-tomato sauce, followed by a refreshing prosciutto & arugula flatbread, baby ice iceberg wedge salad, and perfectly prepared beef short ribs. Our server, Katie, was friendly, helpful, and efficient.
