5 /5 iMacOfDeath: Hidden potential.
Truly a spot for those in the know, because boy is this place out on the edge of town. Scouring the google maps for new restaurants I havent tried nearby, and I stumbled upon this one only thanks to looking for Dock Browns
Ordered over the phone, going with an order of the Pretzel & Queso and a Turkey Ruben with Onion Rings. Given that this is an exclusive restaurant for a golf course, the prices matched the concept, and padded down my wallet for just over $40. Ouchie.
Back home I found myself loving the queso, perfectly cheesy and just the right level of heat. The pretzel sadly was underbaked, as there were globs of unbaked dough very visible at a glance. At least they got the idea right that pretzel for a queso dip, does not need any salt, because the dip is as salty as needs to be already. The ruben on the other hand was phenomenal. Tasty and filling, jam packed full of turkey and sauerkraut with a nice level of swiss and russian. The onion rings were a little softer than I tend to like, but I chalked that up to being in a sealed plastic container for the ride. They did go really well with the queso though, as there was more than enough dip left over after I finished the pretzel.
Overall the price is a tad bit much for the underbaked pretzel, but that singular complaint aside, this was a really good take out meal. Id probably only come back if I were to dine in, same price for a better experience I suspect.
