The Peanut Bar Restaurant - Reading

Rating: 4.4 /5
Amali Clarke-James I am simply blown away by this establishment!! The food was outstanding, the drinks- outstanding, the service and the owner- also outstanding. It was our first time dining here. I found this restaurant on happy cow. Were in town for work nearby and I always struggle to find good vegan options but this place was beyond delicious for both me and my meat eating husband. He had the wings and the scallops. He was full but kept eating because everything was so delicious. He loved the eggnog delight and the peanut butter cup martini (hes not a drinker and hates the taste of alcohol and was ready for more!!) I had the vanilla and the salted caramel moonshines and both completely blew my mind! The vegan options were plentiful and all sounded amazing. I cant wait to try the peanut butter spaghetti. Tonight I hit the vegan chicken parm and I love love loved it. They had various gluten free options as well. We were too stuffed for dessert but the options sounded wonderful too and included a vegan lemon sorbet! The waitress was attentive and made great recommendations and the owner was so sweet and personable!I will definitely be coming back many many times!

Joshua Klepper We stopped in on a rainy day and it was a great experience. We got the cheese curds, cream of crab soup, bbq ! fish sandwich. All of the food was great. The kids got chicken tenders and they were huge! The atmosphere was fun with the Halloween decorations to include the art work and our service was impeccable! I highly recommend stopping in

Nicholas Allen The closest thing I’ve had to my grandmothers sauce and meatballs in about 12 years. Prior to that it was at my cousins restaurant in Maryland. Worth the price and I get why they are still open. I literally had a Ratatouille moment. Thanks Tags.

Jill Matthews The food was great. Big burgers for sure. They have a 1 lb burger but I only got the 1/2 lb burger. That was more than enough for me. Definitely the biggest burgers in town and well worth it. Our server was very good. There’s a Large menu to choose from. Lighting is a little dim but it is a restaurant/bar. Not crazy about the parking area as you have to back out into the street to leave but was told there’s parking across the street after the dry cleaners are closed for the day which is safer to get out of. We Will definitely go back again.

Sammie DSouza The food was delicious, quick to be made and friendly staff. We had the OMG nachos, carne asada chimichanga, and the chicken chalupas. We also tried the tres leches cake, it was amazing! All very fresh and delicious! Cant wait to go back. Would recommend!

Hannajo This is a fairly new spot. Its quite large, and has several big long tables so would be good for large parties of people. They have a pretty nice covered patio area outside as well with a fountain running along side. Overall a pleasing aesthetic and atmospheric vibe. The service was perfect adequate. The door was of quality ingredients and well proportioned. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. There is a large bar area which seems beer-forward with many beer options and several signature cocktails to choose from. This is probably the nicest place to dine on the square in Wilks-Barre. Off street parking only, though.
