Saucony Creek Franklin Station Brewpub - (Near Reading, PA)

5 /5 john solecki: Great place in downtown Reading along the railroad tracks. The former Franklin Street Station sat vacant for over 25 years but was transformed into a brew pub restaurant. The parking lot is safe and secure. Staff is friendly and helpful. Saucony Creel brewery offers variety of great tasting craft brews. The food is delicious. Don’t miss out on this classic former train station for a great beer and some good food.

5 /5 H David: What a cool place! It is an absolutely gorgeous space, and when we came they had a very talented singer playing. The manager also jumped on the microphone and did awesome! The food was pretty good, the cocktails were delicious, and we loved the low seats with the refurbished train station benches. I bet sitting outside on the patio is gorgeous when it’s warm outside.

5 /5 Carlos: With this place, I have found a new favorite! Cool people, cool food, good drinks. Ive been here before and came again during Super Bowl Sunday when it was eempty. Great choice on my part because it felt very VIPish. However, a lot of things were out. The staff there was friendly and cool. Two out of two visits, they were awesome. With that said, ordered the mac and cheese balls which had macaroni in cheese inside that wasnt too overpowering. The taste complimented the hard bread crumb crust outside and was perfectly complimentary. The sauce on top of it also paired well and it all felt like it belonged together, even though I was very skeptical. Then the Jumbo buffalo wings. I typically dont order buffalo wings because a lot of places are horrible. If they are jumbo, they are usually compensating for how bad they are. The place i was at last week, which I wont name, tasted old and awful. These however, were jumbo, tasted fresh, and were delicious. The blue cheese was good, the light coating of hot sauce was just the right amount, though I wanted more, and I want them again! The grilled rosemary chicken sandwich was also something I was skeptical of. But the bread, aioli sauce, and toppings, paired well together. I would order extra pickles myself next time, but man was it good. The beer was some oak-soaked bourbon with a cinnamon sugar rim. I wish they sold this to go, however, they sell the non-oak-soaked one to take. To me its not as good, but you should try it. I didnt see the mac and cheese there this time, but when my girlfriend had it the first time, it was great. I will be coming again, adding it to the list of musts. I want to try their shrimp and grits or oxtail if they are not out next time!

5 /5 Elizabeth Hampton Caponi: We found this place using Google AI prompting for a brew pub walking distance to a hotel along our travel route. What a find! We will be coming back. Yes like a 2 block walk from the Doubletree. The building is a refurbished train station. So the inside is really cool. High ceilings, station architecture - they did a nice job preserving the building. But enough of the building and on to beer and food. Problems with the keg cooling system so not too many beers on tap. But no matter, because they have their offerings in cans. We ordered the Hayzeey IPA, Saucony Creek Lager, and Unicorns Hazy IPA. The Hazeey has a light flair to it. You definitely taste the hops but not over powering. I found it really drinkable and at less than 7% you can have more than one! As an IPA fan I had to try the Unicorns IPA. The description lent itself to a heaviness that I was skeptical to try. But no, a fav for me! It’s a light IPA with nice flavor. I don’t mean light in the marketing sense of light but rather just not as heavy as I was expecting. Very tasty indeed! My husband had the lager which was a really nice drinkable beer. He had a few of those. Service was really fast and friendly and our waitress Mia was great! Live music now, Tres Hombres, and they are great. Music from The Monkees to the Foo Fighters! For dinner I had the Miyagi bowl - lots of food, totally splittable for 2. It came with a huge piece of tofu and an abundance of veggies. My hubby had the Turkey Rachel with fries. He described his sandwich as very good! And the fries were steakfries. Also very good. I took a pic of my dinner but only after I dug in and thought ooh I should post a pic of this. So please don’t judge the bowl by my partially eaten bowl. All in all a wonderful experience and a call out to the host. What a cool guy! Would love to package his look and aura! And final edit - what a really nice Women’s room: large, clean, and a variety of hand lotions and femininely products for use! This nicety has not gone unnoticed!

4 /5 Samantha deManbey: This is a unique place to have a meal, as it is an old train station. Mostly American food - we got the pasta salad and veggie burger. Good size portions and the fries were great - crispy and just right! Aspects of the station are still visible and well preserved like the ticket windows and benches. Some historical information there as well.
